March 20 2013 – Fiery Equinox

Here is an attempt to read the “signs of the heavens” for this equinox (March 20, h. 11:03 am GMT) according to the understanding of esoteric astrology [1] and science of cycles.

This year, the March equinox (spring for the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern hemisphere) is exceptional because, even at the solar systemic level (heliocentric heaven), we have the convergence of the more powerful Planets (in addition to the Sun) for the current “battering-ram” phase of the annual cycle, the Beginning of Fire: Mars and Uranus are both in Aries (conjunct heliocentrically on March 16 and geocentrically on March 23). They are now extraordinarily powerful since rulers (conveying lower octaves) of the Sign, the former influencing and provoking effects on the evidence level (Mars: overwhelming impetus and desire translated into action, self-centered and rebellious for ordinary humanity, ardent and resolute for advanced or wise), and the latter hierarchically (Uranus: cosmic traction, which causes the start of manifestation and, conversely, the impulse to abstract from it).

Thus we have two contrasting drives, one toward conquest and formal achievement, the other toward ascent and synthesis, even more for the contrasting confrontation (square, 90°) with the Lord of the Underworld Pluto in Capricorn, the Sign/value of the Summit or initiatory climax: the paths of renewal from obsolete and restraining sediments and links are unlocked in an overwhelming and incontrovertible way (the entrance of Pluto in this Sign marked and triggered the start of the world politic and economic crisis and the “Arabic Spring”. It will remain there until 2023).

This high charge of “Fire” is even more remarkable for the Earth as it is the only time, in the septenary transit of the solar Hierophant Uranus in Aries, from 2011 to 2018, that Mars joins Him across the equinoctial or “battering-ram” time. Thus, all this can have nothing short of revolutionary and disruptive effects to consciences not ready for this huge impetus towards renewal and evolutive acceleration; yet it is absorbed and ruled by the indomitable or fiery spirit capable of creating forms of pure beauty while remaining free:

the real Man, as guardian of the sacred seed of spirit, now takes the field. 

It is time to wake up and adjustment for consciousness on Earth, which via this Threshold of Equilibrium (the equinoxes are the days where light and darkness are balanced) enters the sign of Libra, the Middle Way and choice between opposites. Venus, the higher or golden alter-ego of the Earth, is opposed to Her throughout the whole month, sailing the electric fire of Aries too: as the “bearer of Light” or Wisdom, the polarity with Venus seems to be the compensation factor and way of escape for the excessive tension of Aries 2013, when “all opposing forces take the field to face each other and resolve in the center.”

Also the quintile to Jupiter helps to defuse the explosive charge of Mars-Uranus-Aries, now in the 6th sector (20°-25°) of Gemini, to “connect kindred spirits to the Magnet”.  So the quincunxes[2] to Mercury and Saturn in Scorpio, opening channels to dissolve conflicts in the Light and prepare resolving plans.

Finally, while Uranus in Aries “propagates the fiery rhythm of the New,” Neptune in Pisces “recalls heroes of the house of the Father”, ensuring an inexhaustible supply of saving force.

[2] The quincunx is an angle/ratio of 150° or 5/12 of 360°, which is a minor Third in Harmonics, i.e., constructive “downwards”, and according to the psychological key, indicates rectification and redemption from the forms of the past.
