Signs of the Heavens 2017 – 1st quarter of cycle

Heliocentric Heaven between the two Solstices of December 2016 e 2017

These readings of the Heavens of Causes (heliocentric view) assume the configuration and perspective of the ingress of the solstice as the initiatory impulse that determines and affects the quality and development of the entire annual cycle of the Earth.[1]

For the coming year, the signs of heaven of the two solstice moments of December 2016 and 2017, the two nodes of the annual ‘octave’, are thus interpolated.

At the December solstice, our Earth (the sphere of experience, the Personality) is located in the Valley, just outside the nurturing sign of Cancer (3^rd and 7^th Rays: intelligent and ordered creation of new cycles and forms). Symmetrically, the apparent Sun at the center (subjectively Sun/Vulcan, the Soul) crosses the threshold of the Gate of the Gods of Capricorn (1^st, 3^rd and 7^th Rays: Power, Planning and Organization) and also the direction to the galactic Center (at present, and every 13,000 years!). This cosmic line is analogically the spine of beings and the vertical axis of the cycle which is activated and sounds its new accord and intent, valid for an entire planetary revolution.

The background color, the psychic quality of this energetic Octave, is impressed by Jupiter (2nd Ray: Love-Wisdom), the Lord of solar Space/Field and magnetism. In one Earth year the solar Master progresses about a zodiacal Sign, or a heavenly arc of 30° on the ecliptic, expanding consciousness according to the Zodiac quality intercepted. As seen in the Chart, the climate of the year 2017 is ‘colored’ by combining the qualities of two Signs, the radiance of the Middle Way of Libra (3rd R) and the deep indigo of Scorpio (4th R): spirals of light and air that fertilize the depths of space waters. The evolutionary consciousness is immersed in an underlying pulsation that tends to balance, to the magnetic and creative equilibrium between opposites (Libra), even more for the solsticial opposition of the Lord of Conflicts Mars (6th Ray), very powerful in Its Sign Aries (1st -7th Rays: manifest Beginning and initiatory Fire): egocentricity and wisdom are only resolved at the center, in the Sun/Souls’s volcano/Vulcan, where desire becomes a vector for the higher Will, and thus a defender of Good.

Since September 10, 2017 to October 6, 2018 Jupiter instead teaches the Lesson of Scorpio: the common consciousness, thanks to a more dynamic centrality acquired with Jupiter in Libra, is preparing to consolidate a victory for the evolutionary Light. The inevitable involutive resistances have to be faced in order to control and channel them to maximum beauty and synthesis (Scorpio): the Solar Master, teaching to draw the luminous lines of future, by degrees issues the Principle of Love, the universal Motive, the only Winner.

The other Builder of the solar Plan thought and decided by the solar Will, the Designer Saturn (3rd Ray of creative Intelligence), is currently in Sagittarius (4th-5th-6th Rays: ardent temperance and direction to the Goal) and arrives at His Sign Capricorn precisely on December 15, 2017: then the supernal Light sends Its crystals – the “seeds of spirit”, the principles of the New – in the Earth Valley, in order to realize the structure of the Future (Saturn will be in Capricorn until September 3, 2020, after Its fateful conjunction to the Destroyer Pluto (1st R) on 10 January 2020).

Jupiter and Saturn are now in a good sextile (60°), peaking on July 9th, collaborative between the planning energies of Libra and those dynamic ones of Sagittarius.

The main planetary aspect of 2017 is Jupiter opposite Uranus on July 13: the solar Art, with its images of an eternal Beauty,[2] makes use of this pulsation of the solar Heart between the alpha and omega of Evolution (Uranus, the 7th R. of Order and Renewal, is in Aries and Jupiter in Libra) to lead the Sowing of the Principles of the New Culture on Earth to its ‘beneficial consummation’.

This original zodiacal polarity recalls the ‘crucial’ opposition between Jupiter in Aries and Saturn in Libra in 2011 and is a prelude to 2020, a key year in which Jupiter and Saturn will be conjunct in Aquarius (for the first time since 1404 and as a solar ‘confirmation’ of the rising Aquarian Age). Both will square Uranus in Taurus (a “right angle” in its turn symmetrical or resonant with that inverse formed by the three in 2000): in 2020 the Seeds for a new human Culture will produce an initial solar harvest, [3] and again in 2025, the crucial year indicated by the esoteric Teaching as a Date of Decision with respect to the Externalization of the Hierarchy of Masters who watch over humanity’s destiny.

Another significant planetary aspect of 2017 is the fiery trine, bearer of creative abstraction and synthesis, between Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries (the peak July 22): the solar Light energizes the Vortexes and the Goals/Directions of the solar Plan and the solar Initiator uses this energy to irradiate the Fire of the New, of the new Civilization on Earth.

Thus we have a strong July 2017 at the heliocentric or causal level: the right triangle between Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus will raise the ascension of the Earth and Humanity to the Capricornus Summit, a raising which will not be painless considering both the level of human responsiveness to Heavenly dictates and the current ‘safeguarding’ of the Reformer Pluto.

At the causal discontinuity of the solstice, the Magister Musicae of the solar Orchestra Mercury (4th R.: Light of Harmony) and the golden Builder Venus (5th R.) are both radiant in Taurus (4th R.: the Eye of Revelation), where they reflect and follow the Model and the image of the Light of Life, constructive and stabilizing. Thus are the heart, the throat and eye, allied for triple service. [4]

In particular, while Venus (isolated in Taurus) focuses on this Construction and Service to the Light, stabilizing consciousness in the splendor of the True, Mercury interweaves reflections and resonances between even 4 ‘deep’ Luminaries (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Saturn), exercising Its harmonizing function between ascending or descending, explosive or crystallising energies.

Finally, the God of Waters Neptune (6th R., very powerful in ‘Its Sign’ Pisces from 2011 to 2025) continues to urge consciousness on irradiating flows of ideals and deep motions of liberation, enjoining and instilling the “Group communion”, the Christic wisdom, as saving force for mankind.

Analogously to the quadripartite pulsation and structure of the beat and breath of every life Cycle of Consciousness, the Year is here envisioned according to its causal Cross of solstices and equinoxes discontinuities. Thus at the December solstice the first season of the year 2017 begins, the first quarter of the cycle, consecrated to the occult Beginning (Capricorn) and the winter (northern hemisphere) or summer (southern hemisphere) of the radiant light.

Here is a possible synthetic formulation which tends to gather the Seven evolutionary Directions impressed, for this first season of 2017 cycle, by the Building Rays of the solar Plan, those Sounds and Lights that can ‘causally’ guide the hearts serving the planetary and solar Unity:

The solar Will fecundates the Seeds of the new Culture

At the reciprocal geocentric level, concerning precipitation of the energies on the Planet down to the individual level, the date of the December solstice sees a radiant crown of aspects in the ‘hight’ of Heaven (inner and outer), with the Sun King ‘vertical’ at the summit (Gate of Capricorn). The combination between energies seems such a powerful irradiation of qualified supernal Light:

– the overwhelming and fiery onepointedness of Saturn in Sagittarius, thrilled by the trine to Uranus in Aries and nourished by the airy sextiles to Jupiter in Libra and Venus in Aquarius, overcomes all contrasts born of confusion and any solution or desire of communion still immature or not coordinated (Mars, Chiron and Neptune in Pisces);

– Mercury is conjunct Pluto and to the direction to the cosmic Heart Sirius (initiatory Star of sensitivity whose energies are poured into the planetary consciousness through the now active Zodiac axis Capricorn-Cancer and Its Luminary Saturn). This solar and cosmic core of regenerating power is even more intensified by the still lingering square to Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra. Nevertheless this ‘karmic’ or transforming waterfall is beneficial to the astral plane, which generally moves the collective and individual mind (sextiles to the 3 celestial bodies in Pisces). This plane is now strongly attracted to the Summit by the energy of Compassion, the Way back to Father’s Home:

“On the buddhic or intuitional plane (the fourth level of the cosmic physical plane) the mind nature— even that of the higher mind or the level of abstract thought—loses its control over the initiate and is henceforth only useful in service. The intuition, the pure reason, complete knowledge illumined by the loving purpose of the divine Mind—to mention some of the names of this fourth level of awareness or of spiritual sensitivity—takes its place and the initiate lives henceforth in the light of correct or straight knowledge, expressing itself as wisdom in all affairs—hence the titles of Master of the Wisdom or Lord of Compassion given to Those Who have taken the fourth and the fifth initiations….”.[5]

“You speak of wide compassion as the key that opens wide the gates. Explain in words the simplest the need that this involves.

The need of gentle mercy, which knows and sees yet understands; the need of tears of crystal to wash away a brother’s sins; the need of fiery courage that can hold a brother’s hand, and lift and elevate him though all the world cry “nay”; the need of comprehension, that has experienced and knows; the occult sense of oneness must guide unto the gate.

What else will lead a man to the portal of the Path?

Compassion first and conscious oneness; then death to every form that holds and hides the life; next wisdom linked with learning, and the wise use of the Word; speech of an occult nature and the silence of the Centre, held in the noise of all the world.”[6]

We close ritually these signs of Heaven with the sowing of the sevenfold geocentric Formulas, asserting the right correspondence of humanity to heliocentric causal impulses:

Our perspective here is both heliocentric, recognized as the Heaven of general Causes and Effects, and geocentric, the Heaven of detailed causes and effects.

Being both tropical perspectives, the ‘point of view’ is for both terrestrial; so the horizon is the orbital plane of the Ecliptic, qualified by the zodiacal Wheel of the 12 Signs, corresponding yet not coincident with their relative astronomical or sidereal Constellations.

[2] Every 3.5 Earth years, Jupiter and Uranus are ‘in aspect’ (conjunction, square, opposition and square again), marking the 49 steps or vortices of the Lambdoma matrix of the primary solar cycle between Neptune and Uranus (1910-2076): that of 2017 is its 32nd vortex or Goal 5.4, see pages 26-27 in “From Linear to Cyclic Time” in the Documents section of TPS.

[3] This 2021 aspect will be the 33rd between them and Vortex 5.5 (New Culture and Civilization solar) in the Lambdoma-mother of Neptune and Uranus. 33 and 55 are Numbers and combinations of energies which, at occult and harmonic level, mark the creation and emergence of a new level of existence: the 33 years of Jesus Christ might then be considered as symbolically significant in this respect.
