Thought and Evolution

1 – The enlightened Thinking

The enlightened Thinkers of all time are alert to higher intuitions; reproducing ideas into matter, they faithfully report their vision and implement what they have grasped through the construction of clear and well-structured thought-forms that will be able to exert a strong influence on “ready to respond” minds.

Every sufficiently defined thought is a vibration of the mental body and, like every other vibration, tends to reproduce itself in the surrounding reality, communicating with mental matter of similar density; just as the low, selfish thoughts of the average man create alike vibrations in other minds attuned to that kind of mental matter, the thoughts of idealists, philanthropists, great social and religious reformers, utopians, and more generally, of those who care about the Well-being of humanity create clear and harmonious thought-forms, which radiate and resonate in other minds focused on similar lofty ideals. The power of directed and coherent thought of a group of attuned individuals determines effects far greater than the sum of the thoughts of the individuals, just as the coherent beam of laser light is far more effective than non-coherent light beams.

The essential characteristics of these New Creators and Communicators are the openness of consciousness, the dedication to the common good, the ability to intuit the Plan, the lack of selfishness and separativeness:

“A single selfless, uncritical, consecrated person can propel a group to a kind of work that will be successful.” (A. A. Bailey)

They support Peace all the time and without hesitation, since they know that, karmically, Good Will and Harmony, unlike war, give good results. In the dimension of time, war is always connected to the grudge of the past, while Peace is the forgiveness of the present, alive and vibrant, projected into the future.

The new idealists know that war and peace are born within, and that the effects of clouded destructiveness or joyful functioning are being prepared in the hearts of men:

“What is peace? For most people this word evokes the possibility of living quietly, safe from any aggression. In reality, however, peace is something else: it is the most intense work that can be done in the world by those who have learned that peace is first of all an inner state. This state is the result of a victory achieved with a bitter struggle over all the psychic conflicts that upset us.” (O. M. Aïvanhov, Daily Meditations)

It is all of us, therefore, with our more or less harmonious vibrations that form the emotional climate in which life on the Planet takes place. Only a decisive break with the past of suspicion and hostility, which has characterized so far humanity’s path of “avoidable pain”, can determine a future oriented towards Love, in which fear, ignorance and selfishness are considered emotional relics of the past and the consciousness of humanity can rise to live and breathe brotherhood every single day:

“I think we have lost that quality, the quality of compassion … What is important, it seems to me, is that when you see the whole structure of human violence and brutality ultimately expressing itself in war, if you see this in its totality, then, in the actual act of seeing, you will do the right thing.” (Krishnamurti)

It is clear that the evolution of humanity is accelerating more and more; it has now reached such a point that it will have to profoundly change the behaviour and the way of interacting, both horizontally, between individuals and nations, and vertically, with the world of the spirit. These changes, in order to be lasting and significant, must always be strongly wanted and implemented by individuals and not imposed from the outside.

2 – Ideologies and Purpose

Over the course of history, ideas, increasingly advanced and inspired, have given humanity the right tension towards evolution; as man approaches and contact the world of the soul, ideas become adherent to the Plan and, finally, an expression of It.

From this it follows that:

• individually: The more man recognizes his Nature and his Destination, the more he elaborates his “dream”, understood not as a vain fantasizing but in a “theosophical” sense, as the ability to consciously create with the mind and “keep alive” the construction of thought up to its realization:

“The dream, as the initiatory Science understands it, is the germ of all reality. The material world, the physical world, is nothing but the crystallization of a dream, and even if it disappeared, the dream would continue to exist, because it alone is real: it generates all sensible forms.
Every day, strive to consciously open the doors of the dream. It is in the dream that you will find the essential elements to rebuild your life and give it meaning. Then, even your face will reflect something of that world of light, beauty and unalterable joy. This is the real life.” (O. M. Aïvanhov, Daily Meditations)

• collectively: The expansions of consciousness of humanity have often occurred through the debate between different ideological camps, after struggle, many attempts and mistakes. This is how contact with the higher spheres is slowly built and the Antahkarana is strengthened, that is, the bridge that unites the personality to the soul, both in individuals and groups. Spiritually oriented groups are not static, but respond, dynamically evolving, to new circumstances: new forms of service are taking shape and taking place, old forms are dissolved or revitalized for an ever wider Vision and an ever more advanced search for Truth:

“A focused, determined and enlightened public opinion is the most powerful force in the world since from public opinion (which is the focused expression of the growth of the collective consciousness) will emerge in the masses the will-to-good, inherent in every individual; to this end humanity must work and wait.” (Alice Bailey)

Humanity is a collective entity, formed by the union of free individualities, which is educated and continuously evolves through the human beings who make it up. In turn, men evolve through the evolution of humanity. The interaction provokes and fosters transformation and progress of society, so that men, through increasing awareness, can have an ever clearer vision of the Laws that govern Manifestation and, finally, when the degree of evolution allows it, cooperate with them:

“The education of Humanity shows itself in flashes in each of us, it reveals itself slowly, progressively, continuously… From work to work, from belief to belief, Humanity gradually gains a clearer notion of its life, its mission, of God and his Law.” (G. Mazzini, Speeches delivered at two meetings of the Society of Friends of Italy).

What human beings have understood and processed with effort and suffering is accepted and elaborated by the individuals of the following generations, who in turn will produce new ideals and projects, that is, those parts of the divine Plan that they can understand at that particular evolutionary level.
