Love.
Harmony.
The alphabet of the heart begins with the two torches that keep alive and lit the certainty of the advance towards the One.
“Thus you realize the two foundations of Our Life. We live in harmony for the sake of evolution.” (1)
Through the fire of Love, the universal Motive, souls expand to contain as much Space as possible and in this outgoing motion conquer the magnetic depths of the Centre.
“Love can create universes. Love and Wisdom are equal.” (2)
“Let us turn back to the concept of love. In each book a considerable place must be allotted to that fundamental concept, especially because under the concept of love much of the opposite is understood. It is correctly pointed out that love is a guiding and creative principle. This means that love must be conscious, striving, and self-denying. Creativeness requires these conditions. And if love is marked by self-enfeeblement, disintegration, and service to self, it will not be the highest concept of humanity, which extols the concept of achievement. The heart filled to the brim with love will be active, valiant, and will expand to its capacity. Such a heart can pray without words and can bathe in bliss. How greatly in need is humanity of the realization of the fire of love!” (3)
Through the touch of Harmony, the Perfect Concordance, souls vibrate to the sound of the creative Word and become in turn instruments for the creation of Beauty, striving, rising and working cohesively for the Common Good.
“People have corrupted the meaning of the word “harmony”. Into this concept they have introduced something clerical, the fold of a tunic, a dried bouquet of nonexistent love, and even a hand-knitted stocking. Better to do without the harps and replace this desiccated concept with something more energetic—let us say, “sensitivity in cooperation”. The Community cannot exist without it. When it is violated, wounded feelings arise, and they, in turn, give birth to stupidity. A person who grows depressed from nurturing grievances is fixated on a single point. Becoming immobile, a person inevitably grows stupid; and stupidity, like rust, eats away a portion of the fundamental substance. Everything vibrates, billows, and breathes, illuminated by flashes of lightning. At a time of great upheavals, do not put up with a rusty anchor; rust will not withstand a whirlpool that washes away everything in its wake!” (4)
“Verily, it is impossible to live without the heart. Heartlessness cannot find a harmonious abode. Not only do the sowers of disunity harm themselves but they also infect space; and who can foresee how far such poison may penetrate? Do not think that enough has been said about unity and about creative harmony.” (5)
In this spiral dance that turns towards the Absolute, the fabric of the Veil of the Mother of the World is embroidered with the daily footsteps of men who tread the path of Life; some uncertain, others lost, others already glimpsing the first destination.
All, however, with engraved in their hearts the memory of the Fiery World that constantly launches its appeal.
“Recognize the call even in the fall of the rose petal. Life is full of calls—the fire brings you to the summit of the Mysteries.” (6)
“No one should approach Fire with fear. No one should approach it with hatred, because Fire is love!” (7)
And how can we not recall Plato’s golden words, pointing us to the power of Harmony, capable of connecting human orbits with celestial ones and making us see and hear the mighty symphony of Space: “… sight was invented and bestowed upon us by the god so that we, beholding the revolutions of Nous in the heaven, could apply them to the orbits of thinking within ourselves, for these, though troubled, are kindred to those untroubled revolutions. (…) And in the case of sound and of hearing the account is the same; they were bestowed by the gods for the same reasons. (…) Harmony, whose movements are kindred to the orbits in our own soul, has been given by the Muses to those who resort to them intelligently, … as an ally against the inharmonious orbit of the soul which has arisen in us, to bring it to order and concord with itself…”. (8)
To know and love Space, “which is supreme and selfless Love, perfect hospitality, the feminine origin of all creatures to which, through form, it transmits life” (9) also allows us to lay the foundations of the temple of the New World Religion, a temple that resounds with a concordant gaze turned towards that which brings together and unites and expresses the supreme Art of Living.
The Master of Love and Harmony, the Christ, is preparing to return in order to build “His Community, that is, the whole of the cycles that belong to His cycle. One may call it a religion, or an ideal structure, or a spiritual society, but in truth it is that which unites and groups, gathers and unifies”. (10)
So let us prepare to pull our inner bowstring and with a steady eye and a resolute heart look up to Heaven, the source of all Love and the source of all Harmony, ready to shoot the arrow that will forever bind every man to Humanity, this to the Hierarchy and the Earth to the far-off Worlds.
“You should attempt to unite hearts into a harmonious round, where all dance in accord, for even a hardly tested heart will add its precious energy to the common chalice.” (11)
“So the heart is not an abstraction but a bridge to the higher worlds.” (12)
While on the plane of Communion of the Ecliptic Mercury, Lord of Harmony, and the Earth, Field and Mother of experience, unite in Scorpio in an embrace of light, in this same light Love and Harmony, spear and shield in every course of action, unfold in joyful symmetries, in rigorous and collaborative polar relationships, in balanced yet dynamic paths of living energies.
“Boundless is the World, countless the colors of the Light. Immersed in its harmony, the spirit sings the song of all hearts. Therefore, rejoice if you can sense it. Devoid of effectiveness is the slumbering spirit.” (13)
The way between Heaven and Earth is open, it’s up to us to tread it.
There’s no love without harmony, nor harmony without love
