The new Humanity

The future has always been humanity’s greatest challenge.
Humans have always wondered whether the future can be known, whether its path can be explored, whether it can be changed and influenced, or whether human beings must resignedly give way, and surrender their freedom, to a future that is already written.
Starting from the assumption that the future is a malleable energy, that is, an energy that is ‘alive’ and receptive to stimuli derived from human consciousness and activity, man not only has the possibility but also the power to influence the future to some extent and to use this energy, fraught with possibilities, in one way rather than another.
“The future is alive, and therein lies the wonder: it is alive, but it has no form. For this reason, it is malleable and adapts to take on any appearance without changing the quality of the energy.” (1)
This statement means that the energy of the future is not defined once and for all, it is not impervious to our attempts to change its course, but neither is it inert to our mistakes and reckless actions. The future and the energy of thought are closely linked according to the axiom ‘Energy follows thought’; if we consider the future to be a form of energy still in its infancy, then the creative capacity of Man, similar to the radiant light of the Sun, the guarantor of growth and development, is the ideal element to promote its full unfolding in the present.
That same light allows the future to manifest itself according to a clear, defined, focused and independently chosen path, even if limited to the orbit of human free will, however limited it may be, and to the evolutionary path of Humanity marked by the succession of cycles.
“Man knows well that his entire existence is a continuous advance towards the future, he knows that he cannot avoid it, but he has not yet understood that the cycle is the key that opens the doors to the unknown future and the equally unknown past. The future, although unlimited, manifests itself, through the action of cycles, drop by drop. It is the infinite container of what will be, from which it is possible to extract the desired forms, especially if they conform to the general evolutionary process.” (2)
In this tension and yearning, future Humanity will have to forge its work in the fire of new ideals, those ideals that the crossed energies of Jupiter, Lord of Love, and Venus, Mistress of wise Fusion, now in conjunction in Cancer from a heliocentric perspective, place as a seal on the golden human Temple.
The action of the two Luminaries is aimed at nourishing human consciousness and providing it with the constructiveness and magnetism necessary to outline a New Culture and a New Civilisation in line with the aspirations and destiny of Humanity.

Future Humanity will make Freedom its highest banner; we are talking about Freedom based on service, cooperation, conscious interaction between beings, and the sacrifice of the most personalistic parts so that the radiance of the true Self can flow forth, Self that is free because it is not bound to any conditioning aspect, to any partial identification, but lives on Communion and is directed towards the common Good.
As already stated, the ultimate goal, namely the complete unfolding of the evolutionary Plan, will inevitably be achieved because it is a transcendent energy and therefore superior to human free will, “… nevertheless, it is totally liberal as regards the ways or means that lead to it, left to the free will of the creatures involved in the process”. (3)

The fire that allows Freedom to burn in the consciousnesses of the One Humanity is that of Union, as indicated by the Teaching. “It is time for people to realize that all events are connected and that unity reigns throughout Cosmos.” (4). It is as if Communion and Unity are the fabric on which all possible coexistence is based and on which Freedom can also flourish.
The Union referred to is that fabric of relationships, exchanges, awareness, magnetism and cohesion in which human beings must learn to act in order to express their deepest essence; without these foundations, society tends to disintegrate and the sirens of separateness and selfishness are ready to enchant those consciousnesses that are still seduced by the flattery of the lower self.

One of the effects of the synergy created between Freedom and Union is the triumph of Truth, or rather the triumph of the integrity of Being, which reveals its light only in the fullness of communion, that is, in complete freedom and full expression of oneself, and not in the dark folds of dispersion, partiality and isolation.
“… The truth is not an abstraction; it is the realization of cosmic laws based upon direct experience.” (5), says Agni Yoga, and it means stretching one’s consciousness to reach the heart of Reality and to preserve, defend, and affirm the Truth inherent in it.
In order to do this, the One Humanity must finally assume a decisive and conscious responsibility not only in relation to its own destiny but also in relation to the Kingdoms of Nature that have been entrusted to it.

And human efforts to build the future world will place Beauty in the place of honour; do we want a future that is disharmonious, dark, asymmetrical, opaque, heavy and arid? No, when every person imagines the future, they fill it with colours, sounds, light, movement and lightness.
They imagine it filled with Harmony, that is, in perfect tune with the Being that vibrates in the heart of every human and waits to be expressed to the best of each person’s ability. “It is the spirit that does not allow itself to settle in, for somewhere deep inside, the spirit remembers beautiful worlds. Beyond the various recollections there dwells an awareness inexpressible and firm—an awareness that it is possible to return to the Light from which the spark emanated.” (6)
And finally, it is precisely through the power of Beauty that the new world is created and new men are forged; it is with the power of Beauty that we proceed along the path that leads to the One: “Be able to face the waves of life with beauty. This is a matter not of getting sweet pastries but of forging a sword, not of licking sugarcoated fingers but of extending the powerful hand of a spiritual warrior.” (7)

The new Humanity will be fully aware of the diversity that enriches the world, but will not use it as a reason for conflict, rather as a source of joy and development, certain that its wealth lies in the abundance of colours and not in the monotonous uniformity of a single hue.
The heresy of separateness, which pollutes and poisons conscious-nesses, can only be defeated by the power of Synthesis, Union and Love, and by the firm certainty that we are One in essence and in that One we can live as brothers and sisters.
“When We speak about cooperation and even about Brotherhood, We must repeat about trust—without it no rhythm is created, without it success is not invoked, without it there can be no advance. Do not think that I am reiterating something too generally known; on the contrary, as in an hour of danger I am repeating about the salutary expedient. There is no other way to awaken the psychic energy. There is no other path on which the heart can glow with victory. It is difficult not to weary if there be darkness in the heart.” (8)

And it is precisely Brotherhood the ideal that will come to life from the hearts and minds of new men and women, finding flesh and blood to manifest itself in the future One Humanity.
Only with the affirmation of Brotherhood will man be able to venerate the spirit that burns in every man, without distinction; only through the affirmation of this ideal will the Earth be considered a treasure to guard and to cherish and not an object to be possessed and plundered; only spurred on by the tension towards this supreme ideal will human beings be able to begin to cooperate for a common purpose.

“Cooperation is definitely expressed in outward action, but Brotherhood is conceived in the depths of the consciousness. Co-workers may differ in the degree of consciousness attained, whereas brothers will sense each other precisely according to consciousness. Brothers may not be working together outwardly, but their thinking will be strongly knit together. They will be united freely; their unity will not be a burdensome yoke or a bondage. But precisely these brothers will understand unity as a powerful motive force for the good of the world. It is impossible to place limits upon such unity, for its basis will be love. Thus, cooperation will be a preparation for the realization of Brotherhood.” (9)
A goal, that of Brotherhood, for which there is no rest, but only fervent commitment: “… Thus, every day, in every task, in every thought, one may be affirmed in the realization of Brotherhood.” (10)

And the Brotherhood is based on the development of Right Human Relationships. Only with a heart focused on perfecting relations between human beings can Humanity finally reconcile itself with Heaven, which is its spiritual home and the home of other, as yet unknown, Brotherhoods.
“The ‘door where evil dwells’ is kept open by humanity through its selfish desire, its hatreds and its separateness, by its greed and its racial and national barriers, its low personal ambitions and its love of power and cruelty. As goodwill and light stream forth into the minds and hearts of men, these evil qualities and these directed energies which keep the door of evil open will give place to a longing for right human relations, to a determination to create a better and more peaceful world and to a worldwide expression of the will-to-good.”. (11)
The perfection thus achieved leads to final glory, completing that step which allows the Idea and its content, essence and form, Spirit and matter to merge together in fullness.

Only in this way can man embark on the path that leads to the future, to renewal and to that glorious new Humanity capable of uniting the Most High and the Abyssal: “… humanity’s destiny is, as you know, to be the exponent of the mind of God, thus expressing active intelligence, motivated by love and implemented by will.” (12)
“Let your imagination run wild for a moment, picturing the condition of the world when the majority of human beings are occupied with the good of others and not with their own selfish goals. Such a play of imaginative thought is good and constructive and will aid in bringing out into manifestation that new world and that new type of humanity which the future will inevitably demonstrate.” (13)

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step: in order to learn to master the future, we must start with tomorrow, which is always the first day, the first cycle, the beginning of the future” (14); encouraged and spurred on by this exhortation, let us not waste time and prepare ourselves to ‘dream’ of the future and the new men who will be its ‘living stones’.
Day by day, let us build cathedrals of light, let us sprout gardens of beauty, and let us sow the dazzling light of the New Humanity in our hearts.
