From the Latin communicatio, communication, exchange, derived from communicare, to put in common, share: from the preposition cum, with, and munus, assignment, so that literally: “the fulfillment of his task along with others.”

Munus is found in the Indo-European root *MA- (variants *ME-/*MAN-/*MEDH-) which expresses the idea of measurement, relationship, exchange.

Etymosophy result: sharing tending to unity.
