4.7 STRUCTURE – Structure is harmonic arrangement
7.4 HARMONY – Harmony is the perfect Glory
This polarity of ideas expresses and realises the primary relationship between:
4.4 MODEL – The Model is the reflection of Life
and
7.7 ORDER – Order is Freedom
Life, infinite and pulsating, pervades every atom of the Manifestation and shines like fire in the image of the Light which, spreading through Space, establishes and designs its Structure, the harmonic arrangement that supports every form and finds its perfect fulfilment in Harmony, the triumphant Glory of creation, the supreme Beauty which has its origin and nourishment in the Light itself.
In this way the golden Work (1) between He who Tunes (4.7) and He who Harmonises (7.4) is accomplished.
“The co-participants of Cosmic structure may be called true Regents. Each epoch has its Regents. The Lord, the Man-God, and the Regent of the Forces of Light constitute the great Power. The Hierarchic principle appears as the basis of all constructions, and for a deepening of understanding of Cosmic structure one should become affirmed by the recognition of the manifested law of Hierarchy. The Forces of Hierarchy are joined across two Worlds—the Guiding Principle, and the principle of fulfilling the Great Will are one Source. Worlds are built upon the two Principles. The Supermundane World is manifested by means of the earthly one. The earthly world aspires into the Fiery World. Eternal life is affirmed in this fiery unity, and the power of life is intensified in fiery structure. For a subtle understanding of the Hierarchic Principle one should delve into the structure of Existence. The Higher Will dictated its Testaments. Manifestation of the Fiery World were assumed by Fiery Spirits; in this manner an exchange unifying the Worlds was taking place… This fiery cooperation is the Cosmic structure. On the path to the Fiery World let us manifest understanding of Cosmic structure.” (2)
“In boundless harmony is contained the whole cosmic creativeness. Only harmony can reveal to the planet the higher spheres. Only harmony can establish the chain of aspirations to the far-off worlds… Therefore Our harmonies are so powerful. The fire of the centers is harmony; the fire of the spirit is harmony; the fire of the heart is harmony.” (3)
The sublime polarity between 4 and 7 is also manifested in the power through which the Model pervades all forms and reveals their inner Order; in the force with which Harmony suffuses the Structure in its geometric work of creation of what is manifested; in the concordance between Heaven and Earth which reveal the same creative textures.
“The union between the Four and Seven marks the completion of a work of beauty, shining with the regular correctness of its form of infinite content”. (4)
The cosmos is the image of this majestic order that manifests itself as supreme harmony; its powerful movements, rhythmic and cyclical, are the direct consequence of the creative dynamism that animates it; his incessant Breath governs and sustains every creature; its Planes, manifest and unmanifest, are an expression of the infinite Hierarchies that innervate Space and are connected like rings in a chain of consciousnesses, ever more luminous and vibrant in their communion.
“The general arrangement is an ordered structure of increasingly broad and free orders, that is, a Hierarchy, which does not harbour separations. Unity is the supreme effect of order, which cancels distinctions and dissipates chaos”. (5)
“Order […] is endowed with a rigorous structure which is at the same time the model and universal support of all forms”. (6)
“The morning stars sang in their courses. The great paean of creation echoeth yet, and arouseth the vibration. There comes cessation of the song when perfection is achieved. When all are blended into one full chord, the work is done. Dissonance in space soundeth yet. Discord ariseth in many systems. When all is resolved into harmony, when all is blended into symphony, the grand chorale will reverberate to the uttermost bounds of the known universe. Then will occur that which is beyond the comprehension of the highest Chohan—the marriage song of the Heavenly Man.” (7)
Thus the Model and the Order rule; thus they weave the Manifestation bringing together the Most High and the Abyssal; thus the Model is reflected into form and imparts the intrinsic Order of the One to every being; thus Mastery and Freedom are kindled in the fiery heart of the Disciple.
Structure and Harmony are the result of all this, the former tracing the supporting, structural lines of the manifested world, the latter filling it with joyful brightness. Following the indication suggested by the etymological roots, we can see in the work of these two energies the orderly unfolding of the stars, a firmament, which through its incessant motions turns towards Union; we can see the image of that inherent impulse in all Life, that pushes creation towards the realisation of an ever more perfect Communion; we can eventually perceive the gradual and inexorable progress towards Beauty, which is the seal of Order and the garment of the Model.
When the song of Life resounds
Harmony blossoms in a resonant Structure of light.
