Today we celebrate the sixth of the 12 Festivals of the new world Religion, the Full Moon of Gemini, the festival aimed at asserting the Will to unify with Intellect of Love and at grasping and understanding, through the consciousness of the Disciple-Humanity, the Mystery of Polarity. [1]
According to the Tibetan Master [2], “the twelve annual festivals will constitute a revelation of divinity. They will present a means of bringing about relationship, first of all, during three months [of Aries, Taurus and Gemini] with the three great spiritual Centres, the three expressions of the divine Trinity [Shamballa, Hierarchy, Humanity]. The minor festivals will emphasise the interrelation of the Whole, thus lifting the divine presentation out of the individual and the personal, into that of the universal divine Purpose; the relationship of the Whole to the part and of the part to that Whole will be thereby fully expressed…
There will be three such major Festivals each year, concentrated in three consecutive months and leading, therefore, to a prolonged annual spiritual effort which will affect the remainder of the year.”
The Festival of Easter, of the risen and living Christ (at the Aries full moon), the Wesak, festival of the Buddha, spiritual intermediary between Shamballa and Hierarchy (at the Taurus full moon), and the Festival of Goodwill (Gemini full moon), that we celebrate today.
“The Festival of Goodwill. This will be the Festival of the spirit of humanity—aspiring towards God, seeking conformity with the will of God and dedicated to the expression of right human relations. This will be fixed annually in relation to the Full Moon of June. It will be a day whereon the spiritual and divine nature of mankind will be recognised. On this Festival for two thousand years the Christ has represented humanity and has stood before the Hierarchy and in the sight of Shamballa as the God-Man, the leader of His people and ‘the Eldest in a great family of brothers’ (Romans VIII.29). Each year at that time He has preached the last sermon of the Buddha, before the assembled Hierarchy. This will, therefore, be a festival of deep invocation and appeal, of a basic aspiration towards fellowship, of human and spiritual unity, and will represent the effect in the human consciousness of the work of the Buddha and of the Christ.
These three Festivals are already being kept throughout the world, though they are not as yet related to each other and are a part of the unified spiritual Approach of humanity. The time is coming when all three Festivals will be kept simultaneously throughout the world and by their means a great spiritual unity will be achieved and the effects of the Great Approach, so close to us at this time, will be stabilised by the united invocation of humanity throughout the planet.” [3]
The time is approaching when this last statement will be implemented: Easter is already recognised and celebrated all over the world, albeit in a profane way by those who follow religions other than the Christian one. Likewise, the Festival of Wesak, which has always been celebrated in the Buddhist religion, is now widely spread through all spiritual movements.
Today we live in a time when the forces of division, conflict and separation seem to prevail and therefore the possibility for humanity to recognise and celebrate the Festival of Goodwill seems very far away. Yet, precisely because of the law of action and reaction, while adverse and hostile forces are unleashed, millions of people unite to invoke union and peace, and to bring forth – each in their own field – intentions and actions of brotherhood and love. So, the work of World Goodwill is enhanced and strengthened precisely at this time.
In the sign of Gemini that conveys the pure Second Ray, men whose consciousness resonates with right human relationships, consciously invoke the energies of union, to overcome all conflicts. It is not a globally recognised festival, but it can be seen that the drive to “unite and think one thought”, through the many initiatives of common meditations of Light and Peace, and the many activities that connect in ever-widening networks of relationships, it actually creates a widespread concordance, as it is typical of every Festival that celebrates impulses and profound truths and consequently invokes the most appropriate energies.
Unifying is the key word of this energetic moment, and it takes place through the interaction and finally the synthesis of opposites, transforming them into polarities through the magnetism of Love, the main Law of our solar System: the Law of Attraction.
“The Mystery of Polarity” (the second of the 3 Mysteries of our second solar System) means recognising that Life is expressed in this way:
Polarity is the original Dyad
And as it always happens with any great Truth, what is apparently irreconcilable (always a game of opposites) is reconciled in the fruit it produces (union of polarities). This is the Law that applies to every level of Life.
Thus, from the point of view of the Earth, being in the full moon phase, we see the Sun – Father and origin of Life on Earth – in Gemini (that’s why it is said that “we are under the sign of Gemini”) and the Moon – Mother of Forms, fully illumined today by the Father – in the opposite sign, Sagittarius, who “unifies arrow and target” and “leads to every goal, from one goal to the next one”, image of the development of consciousness. Sagittarius is also the sign in which the Centre of our Galaxy is located (in this era), that is, the origin of that great Life of which the solar System is an offspring.
For this reason the Gemini (Ray 2)/Sagittarius (Rays 4–5–6) axis speaks to us particularly about the Origins that are manifested through Polarity (Ray 2), and that attracting each other in a process of harmonization (Ray 4), unify themselves (Ray 6), generating innumerable forms (Ray 5).
Gemini therefore expresses the polarity par excellence (Ray 2), as is also indicated by the myth of the twins Castor and Pollux. Its other pole, Sagittarius, invites to reunification in intentions and works (Rays 4–5–6), and to the harmony of human issues (represented by the Centaur, man/horse), through the power of healing (Chiron, a centaur himself) from the most radical of evils: the separation that deceptively divides what is essentially unitary.
Looking at today’s heliocentric positions is really encouraging in the assertion process of this much longed for Festival of Brotherhood: the conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces acts as a harmonizing and balancing element between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus (please refer to other articles in this blog to know more about the meaning of this configuration). Let us contemplate the great Beauty and infinite Love of our older Brothers, who send to the Earth the impulse and incentive to build a New Civilisation, by drawing on the energies of Initiation, Salvation and Light.
Let the One Humanity be a Magnet of Solar Love
