Love and Light:
Jupiter – Saturn dance and its value for world servers*

“Aquarius is pre-eminently a sign of constant movement, of changing activity and recurrent mutations, and the symbol for the sign is expressive of this state of activity. It is, therefore, a sign in which the significance of cycles is mastered and understood by the initiate.” (AAB, Esoteric Astrology, p.142)

As we immerse into the Aquarian energies of the new times, the rhythm of cycles becomes more and more palpable and recognized by practicing groups.

The breath of a full and new moon cycle gives us a metronome beat that assists to tune with the systemic cycles: four beats of solstices and equinoxes, as well as orbital cycles of the planets. Gradually through practice we start recognizing the meaning of the more abstract cycles of 3, 7, 9, 27 and 100 years.

The science of astrological aspects and their cycles is now more familiar to esoteric students. The accumulated wisdom of centuries allows us to follow the dance of the planets through the zodiac with high precision. Though as much as any formula in math and physics needs skilled engineers to make it practical, the scholarly wisdom of esoteric astrology requires practicing disciples, working in various fields of human endeavor, to make it a practical tool activated by one’s own life experience and the light of mind.

This article is a humble attempt to recognize and express a practical opportunity presented by the current heliocentric sextile aspect of Saturn to Jupiter. This is our perception of the present reality, and necessarily doesn’t present the true Reality. At the same time, it is an invitation for the esoteric community to shift gears into a practical recognition and application of astrological and cyclic opportunities in our various fields of service through group reflection, dialog and experiment.

We invite the community to reflect on the current heliocentric Jupiter-Saturn aspect as an opportunity to enhance our perception of the current crisis and to expand our search for new Aquarian/ Seven Rays forms of manifestation adjusting our esoteric work methods.

The qualities of Saturn and Jupiter are often perceived as opposites though in reality they are complementary energies that enable the Perpetuum Mobile of human evolution. These are some of the qualities that characterize the dance of Saturn and Jupiter:

Contraction – Expansion

Reality – Idealism

Karma – Dharma

Through their dance within the Solar system these two great luminaries create tension that pushes us out of our “comfort zone” to continue our evolutionary journey through pain and suffering into expansion of illumination. This pair simultaneously stimulates the process of expansion and deepening. It invites us to balance conflicting opposites in our lives by shifting to higher and deeper levels of perception thus reconciling warring fractions in a new synthesis.

The current heliocentric sextile aspect of Jupiter and Saturn (see the image above) sounds the note of stable balance and harmony.

In its archetypal correspondence it could be recognized as a formula for meditation: standing in the center of the triangle between the Soul (Sun), the Angel of the Presence (Jupiter) and the Dweller (Saturn). It is a beneficial opportunity to tune in and to listen to the voices of these three great Helpers.

As we continue tuning in to with the solar Music of the Spheres, we start recognizing the tones added by the current zodiacal position of the planets, with Jupiter transiting through Taurus and Saturn through Pisces.

Jupiter in Taurus brings us the quality of a magician seeking to bring high ideas into manifestation. Endurance and perseverance are the prerequisite qualities for a magician. In a way Jupiter in Taurus is challenged in a Saturnian way to be practical in relating big dreams to the needs and conditions “on the ground”.

Interestingly Saturn in Pisces sounds a seemingly resonant note, which can be expressed as a “reality check” for a transcendentally vague sense of the emerging future. Saturn stimulates us to be a “scientist” who asks questions seeking clarity and precise definitions.

At this special moment in time, Jupiter and Saturn in their sacred dance through the Heavens can work for us as a cosmic tuning fork, sounding the call to find a new balance between Love and Light, between our idealism and actuality. This is a call to become practical magicians working to manifest the Vision of the New Civilization, which in essence is a call to reorient from the Sixth to the Seventh Ray mode of Service.

In order to further expand the horizon of our receptivity to the Music of the Spheres, let us also consider another beneficent opportunity presented to us by heavens at this time. The current year 2023 signifies the beginning of the new phase in three different cycles indicated by the Teachings to the New Group of World Servers (see article): 3, 9 and 27 years. Each of these cycles has three phases:

1. Crisis/ consolidation
2. Tension/ expansion
3. Emergence/ impact on public consciousness

Interesting to note that in the current shift of cycle wheels the 3 and 9 year cycles coincide in the first phase of “crisis/consolidation”. While the 27 year cycle has moved into the second phase of “tension/expansion”.

The mystery of these cycles is an ongoing invitation for us to reflect, stimulating intuitive downloads. It is interesting to note the presence of the number 3 in all these cycles and its special relation to the cycle of Jupiter with its 12 years orbital journey around the Sun (4 quarters of 3 years each).

“… With increased esoteric teaching comes increased exoteric responsibility. Let each student with clarity therefore take stock of himself, remembering that understanding comes through application of the measure of truth grasped to the immediate problem and environment, and that the consciousness expands through use of the truth imparted.” (AAB, A Treatise on White Magic, p. 3).

Let us take in the responsibility of relating our esoteric understandings to the practice of everyday service. Let us consider several examples of practical applications of the currently available energy. Each of these suggestions are related to different levels of our discipleship responsibility. 

The energy of the Saturn-Jupiter sextile can be invited into our individual discipleship life as a beneficent opportunity that helps us to learn from our past and present mistakes going into expansion of illumination. 

Among other things, Saturn, as a Lord of Karma, is a great teacher that presents us with ongoing opportunities to learn. In early stages of development experience of pain and suffering is the way to learn and subsequently evolve on this planet. After all, Earth is called a “planet of releasing sorrow and purifying pain” (AAB, Esoteric Astrology, p.361). If we choose to hide and avoid a problem – then Saturn makes us learn through the means of pain and suffering. If we face the challenges presented as a valuable lesson, His energy will be the best possible help. In a way, it is fair to suggest that discipleship begins when we start mastering this skill of being a good student of Saturn. 

Then we start recognizing the opportunity provided by Jupiter. As we get in touch with our Soul, and start utilizing the Light of Mind, we realize that there is an alternative way to learn and evolve – through conscious understanding. We suddenly discover that suffering is optional. We can actually recognize and learn the lessons of growth through illumination and expansion of consciousness. This is a gift of Jupiter.

The current Jupiter-Saturn sextile aspect directly points to this opportunity. This is a perfect time to meditate evoking the quality of recognizing lessons in our lives without pain and suffering. This is the time to ask two great Lords to help us to shift to the next level of our evolutionary journey. The Lord Jupiter and Lord Saturn can empower us filling our journey with the thrilling sense of our life as a Great Spiritual Adventure. 

Let us consider another sphere of the unfolding group responsibility. The gradual process of repolarization of humanity from the astral to the mental plane necessarily stimulates an increase of fires raging between opposite views concerning happenings of our time within our nations and in the world as a whole. This leads to splits and separation along ideological belief lines within families, groups, communities and nations. This is a reflection of the Fourth Ray of Harmony through conflict that governs the period of transition between the Ages and Rays.

In this period of transition the esoteric community is called to show humanity the way from conflict to harmony, thus emphasizing the higher aspect of the Fourth Ray. For this we need to express the Will to Love that would help us to hold a presented conflict in a protected space of the group heart to transform it, as true alchemists, into the gold of Harmony.

We recognize it as a need and as a way for esoteric groups to expand its capacity, gradually learning to become a functional Ashramic outpost. The following quote can be considered as a formula that indicates the necessary steps in this process:

“The true Ashram (of which the coming outer Ashrams will be but reflections) is not for lower concrete mind discussion. It is a focal point of receptivity; it embraces the effort to establish mutual contact through an united recognition of the vision, of the esoteric basis of life and the laws governing action. It is not a place, however, for long and silent meditation processes, for it is a point of tension where, together, the Ageless Wisdom in its more esoteric aspects is discussed, where the nature of soul relationship is recognised and where the fusion of auras and the inter-blending of the “Triangles” goes forward consciously. An Ashram is the state of mind of a spiritual group. It is a point of united thought; it is a centre for the clarification of the vision and not of physical plane methods of work. As disciples learn to integrate themselves into a Master’s Ashram, they discover that the first thing they have to do is to establish a basic harmony between themselves and their fellow disciples and to reinforce the contact between their own souls, the ashramic group and the Master. Then they learn to comprehend through discussion and experiment the nature of the energies which are seeking world expression, and the nature of the forces which must be reduced to powerlessness, if these new incoming energies are to prove effective in bringing about the desired changes under the Plan.” (AAB, DINA I, p. 707)

We recognize here three main steps for the process of a group to learn functioning as an outer Ashram:

• “The first thing the group members have to do is to establish a basic harmony between themselves and their fellow disciples and to reinforce the contact between their own souls, the ashramic group and the Master.
• “ … {An Ashram} embraces the effort to establish mutual contact through a united recognition of the vision … It is a point of tension where the nature of soul relationship is recognised and where the fusion of auras and the inter-blending of the “Triangles” goes forward consciously.
• The disciples learn to comprehend through discussion and experiment the nature of the energies which are seeking world expression, and the nature of the forces which must be reduced to powerlessness, if these new incoming energies are to prove effective in bringing about the desired changes under the Plan.”

This recognition is the result of cooperation between the 2025 Initiative Coordination Group and the Hechal Group. It was presented at the “Unity of Europe” conference organized by the Aquarian Wisdom Center in Portugal in April 2023 as the foundation for a Safe Space for difficult conversations – a model that suggests a way to transform conflicts of opposite views through a process of focusing the Will to Love for respectful deep listening, meditation and inclusive dialog that seeks to shift the practicing group to a higher perception where a more inclusive ashramic vision can be contacted.

This practice is one of the ways how the beneficent note of the Jupiter-Saturn sextile could be utilized. Let us invoke the potency of the current aspect between the great Luminaries to precipitate the energy that would assist us in transmuting conflict into harmony. Knowing that energy follows thought, we would focus the available energy directing it for potentiating and stimulating the work of multiple dialog spaces that are currently sprouting around the world. 

Here is the another case of possible application of the beneficent opportunity presented to us by Saturn and Jupiter. The last years of the Forerunner Stage, which technically ends in 2025 (since 1945), challenge humanity on many vital frontiers. The world esoteric community itself (as well as the entire humanity) lives through a ground shaking crisis of discrimination being challenged to recognize what is true and what is not in the present informational deluge. From a certain angle this crisis can be perceived as the struggle to find the right balance between the duality of Idealism and Practicality. This collective test is largely conditioned by the shifting gears from the Sixth Ray of Idealism to the Seventh Ray of Magic and Order. 

The Sixth Ray stimulates us to aspire to high ideals giving us power to persist and endure in our faith. The Seventh Ray makes us seek ways for practical manifestation of our aspirations. We are still in very early stages of learning what the Seventh Ray brings us and what it means to function under this energy. At the same time the dominant Sixth Ray still conditions all spheres of our life to the extent we often can’t distinguish its presence and influence. 

The shadow side of the Sixth Ray stimulates radical opposition of views – everything is perceived in black-and-white polarity. Even if someone or something persuades us to change our long cherished beliefs, we often push those away with the same zeal we protected them before. The same idealism makes us strong believers in opposite ideas, not allowing us to recognize the complexity of reality on the ground. Balance is hard to achieve.

An example of this is the perception of the United Nations within the esoteric community. The ideals of international cooperation and unity are in the center of the teachings of the New Age presented by Alice Bailey. For decades groups around the world have been meditating in support of the UN and more recently for successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals as the centerpiece of the UN development agenda. For decades the UN was on the high pedestal as the highest achievement of human good will. 

The rapid change of the global media landscape with sprouting alternative information sources as well as the raging informational war (directly related to the actual war) opened the floodgates of information. As a result many facts previously known only to professionals and academics are presented to the public by official or alternative media in simplified and sometimes twisted ways in favor of presenters’ agendas. Consequently in its extreme the UN suddenly is presented as a corrupted dysfunctional organization playing in favor of global elites.  In result of these “revelations” some esoteric groups and individuals made a u-turn, suddenly condemning the beast of the UN and labeling those in the community who don’t want “to see the reality”.

In this battle of views (as in any other) we often forget that any given set of facts never presents the whole story. Complexity of international relations is defined by layers of contexts that need to be considered if one wishes to perceive a more clear picture. 

People who worked at and with the UN always knew very well about numerous faults of the international architecture and devoted their lives to make a positive change. As the esoteric wisdom says “initiate knows because he works”. The UN is a reflection of many imperfections within humanity itself. After all, it is the UN of governments and therefore it necessarily contains all the flaws and limitations we know in our national governments. The UN of today is just a milestone in the right direction and not an end goal. 

The current global crisis, and especially the current aspect of Saturn and Jupiter, is a beneficent opportunity also for the UN to reconnect with its founding ideals and to evoke the energy of the Soul of Humanity in order to overcome karmic limitations and to rise to the new level of organizational functionality and international harmony.

Another example of exoteric application of esoteric knowledge is an experimental attitude towards observing cosmic cycles and utilizing them as beneficent opportunities for world service.

2023 is a year when, as we are told, the Hierarchy meets for a silent conclave that is gathered every nine years for meditation on “a part of God’s Vision and formulation of that vision for the immediate present. (…) it is an opportunity for “the initiates and disciples in their ordered ranks and various gradings – to cooperate with that immediate aspect of the Plan which they can grasp and which comes down to them through the inspired minds of their Directors at certain stated times, and in certain specific years.” (AAB, Esoteric Psychology, vol.2, p.241-242)

Many groups experiment with this opportunity every nine years to tune in with the Hierarchical meditation on the unfolding Divine Plan, seeking to recognize their part in the tremendous dynamic mandala of world service.

Another cosmic opportunity comes every seven years during the World Servers Festival Week, known as the Group Impact Week. It is related to a cosmic alignment between the sign of Capricorn and another extra-zodiacal constellation of tremendous potency, opening the portal for special stimulation that can be contacted and utilized by serving groups only.^[1] The last Festival happened in December 2019, and the next coming in December 2026. The esoteric community knows about this opportunity and already now should start preparing for the next Festival, evoking all world servers to recognize and utilize this opportunity.^[2]

It is interesting to consider a relation between the Seven years cycle and the Seven Rays. Starting with 2020, the year 2023 is the fourth year and it can be related to the Fourth Ray of Harmony through conflict. This can become an empowering correlation considering a practical need for conflict resolution in so many areas at this time.

The Twenty First century already has proved to be an intense and eventful time. As we prepare for the next hundred years of our discipleship journey, we open ourselves to exciting discoveries and probably the most intense service period in our entire evolutionary journey. The preparation is coming to an end. The real work is about to begin.
