Christoph Willibald Gluck | Dance of the Blessed Spirits
from Orpheus and Eurydice
.
Life is comprised of an eternal succession of ideas and of manifestations of cosmic energies. How can a spirit who does not project his thought into the realm of ideas adopt the concept of Infinity! When thought will take on the significance of something vital and realizable, it will reveal to man where is joy and where is truth. (Infinity I § 96)
[Ideas] are true beings that are not born, do not perish, do not grow or diminish, do not change or become in any way. Ideas are the “Being” in itself. (Plato – Phaedo)
Long ago people understood that for the proper reception of these rays [of sublime energies] it is needful to bring the organism into a harmonious condition. For this purpose the Wise Ones have indicated the power of sacred invocations… Prayer and inward concentration are excellent attainments which render healthful the state of the spirit. Each one in his own way has contributed a manifestation useful to spiritual concentration, whether he sought the solution in music, in song, or in the dance… Fundamentally man was striving to create a particularly exalted state of mind, promoting the reception of the higher energies. (AUM § 4)

We raise our gaze to Heaven, which is the first Idea. It is the World of Ideas, which dwell there and feed on it.
The study of Forms leads to Ideas, which are their Cause and Models. The study of Ideas, due to the need for balance and symmetry, reveals the process by which Forms appear. Ideas and Forms are not contrasting entities, but symmetrical, and both belong to the divine Reality of Cosmos. The former are unity, essence; the latter are multiplicity and becoming…
When imitation or image perfectly coincide with the real Model, Form and Idea cease to be distinct and become one. (E. Savoini, Man on the Planet and in the Heavens, only available in Italian)
Arise, O day! The atoms dance!
The souls dance ecstatically with joy.
The One for whom the celestial spheres and the wind dance,
I will whisper in your ear, where He dances!

Today, in the heliocentric heaven, we celebrate the conjunction in Libra between Mercury, the Solar Messenger, the guarantor of symmetries and correspondences, the Master of Music who harmoniously connects the High and the Low and reflects the Model in all hearts of the System, and the Asteroid Terpsichore, she who delights in dance, understood as a privileged instrument for accessing the solemnity of the spirit, the Muse of movement that prepares us for the Sacred… An apotheosis of harmony and elegance, enhanced by the dazzling light of the pure Third Ray of Libra, an exciting celestial dance that urges us to give wings to our thoughts and fly high towards the first Idea, which can only be Heaven, that Model that Mercury encourages us to contemplate and guides us to imitate, a sublime momentum to bring the rhythms and sounds of Ideas into every thought, word, gesture and relationship of our daily lives, so as to realise – in the words of one of the greatest interpreters of the teaching of the Muses, William Shakespeare – the “music of men’s lives”!!
Supported by this electrifying conjunction, let us express, in balance and with a deep sense of Beauty, the eternal movement of the spirit, to constantly gravitate around the central Fire of all that is Right, Harmonious and Sacred!

We can find many ways to express the concept of dance, but it is no longer necessary to prove – because it is a theoretical and historical fact that can be demonstrated in many ways – that dance is a form of thought: about the body, about man, about the world and their mutual relationship, about a tension to transcend… The elements necessary for any choreutic discourse are the body and movement, as tangible manifestations capable of showing something different from our everyday vision. The identity of these two elements, however, is not only a question of physical mechanics, but also of the ontology of the body and movement. The dancer, we might say, is a body capable of containing other worlds within the physical world; further worlds of imaginary and symbolic bodies, of possible bodies, visible and invisible… In other words, he enacts the profound interplay between internal and external, between the acting subject and the perceived object, because dancers do not exist separately from the form they are seeking and presenting. This means that, with its own language, dance offers an anti-dualistic perspective that “shakes up” the usual way of considering, thinking about and perceiving the human condition. If we consider what happens when a human body begins to dance, we must admit that its movement is not only physical… Every tiny movement of the dancer shows the traces of a body that is also soul, revealing the signs of a cosmos of possible gestures… (Paul Valéry – Dance and the Soul)

Everything is Proportion and Commensure in the World of Ideas governed by the Rule of Art. Exactness illuminates it. Everything, including joy and bliss, is ruled by Number. Therefore every Being shines and the Law leads in all its regions. The World of Causes does not encompass any chance, nor disorder or doubt. There is nothing there created by man, yet he has his causing reason. The World of Ideas does not tolerate violence nor oppression, which are contrary to Harmony, its natural law. (The Distant Goals – Goal 6.3)
The idea is the cause that serves as a model for objects whose structure is written in the nature of eternity. (Senocrates in Proclus, Commentary on Parmenides)

Therefore, it was taught in the inner temples that this visible universe of spirit and matter is but the concrete image of the ideal abstraction; it was built on the model of the first divine idea. (H. P. Blavatsky, Cosmo-genesis)
How may one affirm the beginning of understanding? The spirit will teach one to apply the signs of straight-knowledge, but let the treasury be filled! Only desire to enter into the rhythm of the cosmic pulsation [dance]! (Infinity I § 19)

Knowledge must be universal and upheld in full cooperation. The paths of communication know no barriers; so, too, the paths of knowledge must blossom in the exchange of ideas. (AUM § 341)
In singing, in poetry, in painting, in sculpture, in architecture, in speech, and, finally, in all manifestations of sound, musicality is expressed. In Hellas a ceremony to all the Muses was performed. Tragedy, dance, and all rhythmic movement served the harmony of Cosmos. (Supermundane § 42)

An invasion of armies can be resisted,
but not an idea whose time has come.
