Light has always been a symbol of intelligent life, of creative impetus that travels the paths of space and of the mind; through light we not only see but also interpret the world and its events finally free of darkness and illusion.
“The Teaching of Lord Gotama affirmed that Light does not fear darkness. The victorious Light engulfs everything.” (1)
The power of light upholds every creation and every battle, defeats the darkness of ignorance and fear, allows us to move forward strengthened by Joy, the radiant daughter of light, and sustained by the burning fire of the heart: “What might is contained in the creativeness of the heart! All cosmic tensions can be discharged by a light-bearing ray. How can one melt a projected arrow? Only by a smiting ray of Light. Therefore, the smiting ray of Light must penetrate into all arising difficulties. All the dark corners where ignorance is hiding must be illuminated. All erections based upon ignorance and cleavage should be demolished, because they do not further the growth of the construction. When We construct We manifest pure striving. All harmful accumulations of which humanity is unaware breed impediments to evolution. Thus, the smiting ray of Light will illumine all dark corners.” (2)
Today, according to the heliocentric perspective, a dazzling light is ignited in the Heavens: Jupiter, the Lord of Love/Wisdom, custodian of the Solar Heart, steps into the magnetic substance of Gemini, raising light waves capable of encompassing the entire solar system: “The mightiest lever of Cosmos, and the most sacred, is the heart. Its consciousness fills Space; its light illumines Cosmos.” (3)
The energies of Jupiter and Gemini, vibrating on the same wavelength, the 2nd Ray, light space up and pervade it with the sweetness of their song: “The vibration of the heart expands like a magnetic wave of spirit. The vibration of the heart expands like a ray of light. In all cosmic manifestations, the Magnet of the Perfect Heart attracts.” (4)
In this region of systemic space, therefore, pulses with greater vigour the Magnet that draws hearts to itself and takes the form of the Christic Light, a saving beacon for all sailors on the perilous sea of the formal world, since God’s revelation is given to us through forms and so through forms, illuminated by the light of consciousness, it is possible to return to Him.
The Teaching in this regard states: “In the words of the Old Commentary: Upon the golden triangle, the cosmic Christ appeared; His head in Gemini; one foot upon the field of the Seven Fathers and the other planted in the field of the Seven Mothers (these two constellations are sometimes called the Seven Brothers and the Seven Sisters. A.A.B.). Thus for aeons, the Great One stood, His consciousness inturned, aware of three but not of four. Intent, with suddenness, He heard a sound go forth… Arousing to that cry, He stretched Himself, reached forth both arms in understanding love, and, lo, the Cross was formed. He heard the cry of the Mother (Virgo), of the Seeker (Sagittarius), and of the submerged Fish (Pisces). Then, lo, the Cross of change appeared, though Gemini remained the head. This is the mystery.” (5)
Gemini therefore represents a fundamental junction on the path of human evolution, the hub that will enable Humanity to move from personal and separative consciousness to group consciousness, from selfish love to spiritual Love: “Because the Ray of Love-Wisdom, the second ray, pours through Gemini it becomes apparent how true is the occult teaching that love underlies the entire universe. God is love, we are assured, and this statement is both an exoteric and an esoteric truth. This underlying love of Deity reaches our solar system primarily through Gemini, which forms, with the constellation of the Great Bear and the Pleiades, a cosmic triangle. This is the triangle of the cosmic Christ and is the esoteric symbol lying behind the cosmic Cross.” (6)
Jupiter in Gemini therefore urges Humanity so that the Light of the inner Christ flows from the human heart and the Christ consciousness, “which is the consciousness of the group, of the relation of the part to the whole (something which Christ continuously emphasised) and of the human to the divine” (7), may finally pervade the thoughts and actions of men.
It is thus necessary for this luminous consciousness, this evolutionary force that leaves no room for doubt or hesitation, to come to light and emerge from the depths of each man’s ‘cave’ because: “When the consciousness which is Christ’s has been awakened in all men, then we shall have peace on earth and goodwill among men. When this has taken place, then will God be glorified. The expression of our divinity will bring to an end the hatred rampant upon earth and break down all the separating walls which divide man from man, group from group, nation from nation, religion from religion. Where there is goodwill there must be peace; there must be organised activity and a recognition of the Plan of God, for that Plan is synthesis; that Plan is fusion; that Plan is unity and at-one-ment. Then Christ will be all in all, and God the Father will be glorified. This must be brought about by a living union with God through Christ—through the historical Christ Who revealed God, and through the individual Christ, hidden in every human heart, Who must be brought to birth.” (8)
The beating heart of Jupiter today is also intertwined with the energy of the New Moon (9) which sees the Sun and the Moon also in Gemini, locked in an embrace of Light; in this potential beginning, the energies of renewal work to create the future and make use of the power of creative intelligence which, at the time of the Full Moon, will manifest in the glorious fullness of radiant forms of light.
The ferments of the present world, which undoubtedly displays conflict and disorder, but which also casts a hopeful glance into the future and tends towards collaboration and unification, are certainly the first signs of the emergence on Earth of the future Kingdom of God, of His triumphant Church: “What is this church of Christ? It is constituted of the sumtotal of all those in whom the life of Christ or the Christ-consciousness is to be found or is in process of finding expression; it is the aggregation of all who love their fellowmen, because to love one’s fellowmen is the divine faculty which makes us full members of Christ’s community. It is not the accepting of any historical fact or theological creed which places us en rapport with Christ. The citizens of the Kingdom of God are all those who are deliberately seeking the light and attempting (through self-imposed discipline) to stand before the One Initiator; this worldwide group (whether in the body or out of it) accepts the teaching that “the sons of men are one”; they know that divine revelation is continuous and ever new, and that the divine Plan is working itself out on Earth.” (10)
And this Church will be built in Light and Love, sustained by Harmony and Beauty, nourished by Brotherhood, pervaded by Infinity.
Jupiter’s touch enters into the depths of every consciousness, urges it with love, sustains it and propels it towards the realisation of its deepest essence; the energy field of Gemini nurtures this quest and magnetises hearts so that they may respond in agreement to the Voice that calls. It is the voice of the cosmic Christ, who from time immemorial has pointed the Way to the Father, for “I and the Father are One” and it is the voice of the historical Christ who asked every man to love unconditionally in the image of the Father who is in Heaven and in every heart.
“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God;
everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.
Whoever is without love does not know God,
for God is love.” (11)
