I am the Good Shepherd

Today we celebrate the entrance into Aquarius, the Power of infinite Service, to the Good, the Beautiful and the True. Let us solemnly sound into the Living Space, as one planetary Server, the Christic Assertion associated with this Sign (see the introductory article).

I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD

Words of power that the Master of Masters, ‘the last of the Servants’ (as the Christ called Himself), affirmed in His First Advent 2000 years ago, and that today, in the Sign of the new age, are inscribed in the One Heart of humanity, to be lived, witnessed, and launched beyond – as water of life at the service of universality.

The Formula is the culmination of one of the pages of the New Testament, handed down by the beloved Disciple, John, the Gospel parable that gives continuous, vivid and magnetic testimony of the figure of the Good Shepherd*, as the Father and Guide of the people of the world, as the Keeper of the ‘Life more abundant’:

So Jesus said again, “Amen, amen, I say to you… I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father.” [Gospel according to John: 10, 7-18] 

With these eternal, timeless words, He who “guides our steps in Cosmic Space”, in the Infinite, on the Path of Return to the Father’s Home (Shamballa), clarifies the Mystery of the Son/Shepherd of Souls, Initiator and herald of the Aquarian Server, the Bearer of the Water of Life, the universal life energy conveyed by Aquarius.

This Christ note is the unifying divine energy of the Second Ray of Love-Wisdom (the Buddhi Principle, the spiritual Soul or “group consciousness”) which has the ‘power to materialise’ on the physical plane a central divine force – which will become one flock and one shepherd (Humanity merged with the planetary Hierarchy: the 4^th human Hierarchy), “the shepherd who watches over the flock of stars”**, the world Server.

“… that (…) divine centre of intelligent activity which we call humanity, the fourth kingdom in nature will eventually act as the mediating principle to all the three lower kingdoms. Humanity is the divine Messenger to the world of form; it is essentially Mercury, bringing light and life to other divine manifestations and of this all divine world Saviours are the eternal symbols.

This coming process of planetary service through the third divine centre is only truly effective when Aquarius rules and when our sun is passing through that sign of the zodiac. Hence the immense importance of the next 2000 years. Therefore, only when a man is a world server and becoming group conscious can this desired objective of manifestation begin to demonstrate. It is beginning to happen today for the first time in planetary history. It is one of the first fruits of initiation and only in the next root race to our present Aryan race will we begin really to understand the significance of the process and the true nature of the energies to be released through the medium of humanity upon the planet. It is for this reason that Jupiter and Uranus (expressions of the second and the seventh rays) are the exoteric and esoteric rulers of Aquarius (…) — the World Server, the transmitter of energy which evokes magnetic response.

– Jupiter and Uranus — planets of beneficent consummation. The second ray of love and the seventh ray which fuses spirit and matter “to the ultimate glory” of the solar Logos are in the fullest eventual cooperation.

– Humanity — the focal point for all these energies and the divine distributor of them to individual man and later to the lower three kingdoms in nature.” [Alice A. Bailey, Esoteric Astrology, p. 200-1] 

Jupiter, the solar Christ, guides the human Hierarchy to the Goal of Evolution, to Love-Wisdom, on the paths of service and expansion, in order to Return to the Father, to the One, to the Infinite.

“Jupiter and its influences indicate that the way of incarnation is the ‘beneficent’ method of evolutionary unfoldment and that the way of love-wisdom (2^nd ray) is the way for humanity to go”. [Ibidem, p.127]

“Jupiter — Ray Two — The fusion of heart and mind, which is the subjective purpose of manifestation. (…) Jupiter gives an inherent tendency to fusion which nothing can arrest. The achievement of ultimate synthesis is inevitable, and this Jupiter promotes.” [Ibidem, p. 139]

Jupiter-Christ in us, the certainty of glory, leads us to unite with the Hierarchy, the planetary Heart. Then

The Heart of the Good Shepherd will make the Planet sacred

— Which path is the most affirmative one on the way to Us? The most unfailing way is the path of self-sacrificing achievement. The most wondrous fire is the flame of the heart saturated with love for Hierarchy. The achievement of such a subtle heart is affirmed by Service to the Highest Hierarchy. Hence, so wondrous is the self-sacrifice of the subtle heart. The spirit-creativeness and independent action of a sensitive server fierily imbue space. Thus the subtle heart responds to all cosmic occurrences. Thus, verily, the visible reverberates with the invisible, the present with the future, and the predestined takes place. Thus the self-sacrifice of the subtle heart imbues the world with flame. [Hierarchy § 352]

“Our Power is sacrifice.” [The Call § 353]

— Silence may be teeming with voices and darkness may be suffused with light. Hence, he who regards Space as empty will not apprehend the mighty life manifested in silence as the highest Word of Cosmos, nor the invisible as the manifest Eye of Cosmos. The law of Cosmos is inviolable, and even man has accepted the Voice of Silence. Where speech is meager, the voice of the heart affirms silence. Cosmos in silence makes manifest the language of the heart, and the Cosmic Voice may become audible. Sensitiveness and vigilance can aid us in giving ear to the Voice of Silence. The beauty of Cosmos is manifested in silence. The beauty of silence is expressed in all the higher manifestations of life.

Let us learn to harken to silence! The infinitude of Cosmos creates the manifestation of the Silence. [Infinity I § 80]

While waiting for the great Lord, Christ-Maitreya***, and in preparation for His coming, the Communion of Servers guards and protects His Word in its Heart. 

“True Expectation is smiling, bright and quiet; it is a bliss and finally a bulwark. He who is awaited must be protected. It is necessary to shelter him, in the heart, from hostile thoughts, which certainly threaten him, from malevolent energies, from arrhythmias. * In the original Greek text, the word used for ‘good’ is actually ‘kalos’, i.e. ‘beautiful’: from the Indo-European root *kal-, which expresses the idea of “coming from the motion of the stars”, “beauty”, and of “coming into motion”, “guiding”; while Pastore (Shepherd) recalls the Idea of Father: from the Latin pater, from the Indo-European root *PA-, which expresses the idea of father. It suggests nurturing and protecting; in Italian it is also the same root as “pasto” (meal) and “pastore” (shepherd), expressing in this case the concept of guidance. Father indicates the power that gives and preserves life.

It is worth noting that Eleusis, the centre of the sacred mystery rites of Greece, was called the sheepfold, while the Hierophant, the Initiator, was called the Good Shepherd, a name also associated in antiquity with Apollo and Hermes (Mercury), and with Orpheus enchanting the beasts.
