Saturn, the Lord of Light and creative Intelligence, today offers itself to the solar gaze (1) as it plunges into the depths of the waters of substance, into the maternal, inspiring and saving ocean of Pisces.
In perfect consonance with this celestial step, our gazes also turn to Heaven and welcome the light radiating from the Luminary: “To focus the mind on Saturn is to scrutinise the core of the driving Intelligence of the solar complex. The orders and graduated and sequential plans that realise the will of Sun/Vulcan emanate from there: it is the true operational centre of the space fleet”. (2)
Saturn plans, designs, elaborates and arranges the Plan of the solar Logos and, as it inflexibly tends towards the Goal in harmonious dance with its Brothers, free but collaborating, it brings all the updates indispensable to its realisation, adapting the advance to the energy content of the System without ever forgetting the cosmic Laws that have traced the Way forward.
“… this Luminary is not only the Lawgiver but also the Designer of solar development. We can also say that it is its Navigator, who is entrusted with establishing the orbits and thus all the manoeuvres of the spaceship fleet, which enable it to reach, in exact order, the innumerable stages prepared for the crossing towards the final Port”. The etymon of Saturn also reminds us of this incessant work of the Luminary who, like a celestial Sower, launches in Space the seeds of the future: its hand acts cyclically, alternately distributing, with fullness and wisdom, those Ideas of light that will be clothed in matter, blossoming in concentric rings of free and conscious response to the Call.
“Rhythmic motion is the agent that connects the beginning to the end:
it is the free, intelligent and creative use of Space and Fire.
Yet freedom of motion has a law, which no process escapes,
under penalty of halt: it is the law of the Spiral,
which always renews all phases
and places the end above the beginning, without ever separating them.
This is the sign of divine Intelligence, the third Fire.
I am Light, which is the rhythmic motion of Fire.
Thus I illuminate the ascending way.” (4)
In its tireless progress through the coils of the Zodiac, Saturn today crosses the gate of Pisces, the Sign that makes the shining Light of Life triumph, eliminating forever the darkness of matter.
The simultaneous attraction and repulsion between Soul and personality, indicated in the glyph of Pisces by two fish swimming in opposite directions but connected by a lasso, symbolises the context in which consciousnesses experience incarnation and subsequent abstraction from the formal world.
Through the sacrifice (sacrum facere, “to make sacred” in Latin) of the lower self, the higher Self emerges triumphant from the waters of death and rises up towards the supernal light with all the power of Love and Compassion: the mystical union with the One in the Father’s Home is coloured by the cold, clear Light of Saturn, which breaks down the previously erected material boundaries and dissolves them in the splendour of the adherence to the Plan.
The embrace of light between Saturn and Pisces reveals yet another step in the Plan of Salvation that will lead all consciousness to merge with the One; the path travelled by the Pilgrims, with the help of these heavenly energies, ascends, turn after turn of the spiral, to planes ever more subtle, ever more transparent, ever more free of the shadows cast by forms.
“Dedication is the requisite of those who strive on the path of ascent. Those who with a full heart fulfill Our requests will attune their ears to the harmony of the Universe. (…) I reveal to you the vast school of life. By measuring the ways of the world can you gain wisdom. Falter not in your pure striving and I will lead you on the path of the chosen ones. Weaken not nor tarry in your striving.”. (5)
“Verily, during such fiery tension of manifested arrows humanity must straightway accept that direction of salvation which has been indicated to it by the Forces of Light. To the assistance of the planet are sent fiery currents; they must be received with spirit and heart. On the path to the Fiery World it is especially important to realize the power extended for the salvation of mankind.” (6)
Saturn in Pisces thus shows the Way to that formless world in which separations, distances and divisions lose their consistency, where substance is purified and illuminated to regain its original transparency, and where the imperishable glory of the One finds its deepest and most central abode.
Saturn, the cosmic Thinker, in the substance of Pisces urges us to learn how to “think out of Love”: thought, speech, knowledge, are not an end in themselves but proclaim the power of the logos, of the Creative Word that has given a manifested form to Its supreme Idea and spreads out the Rays of Love, Beauty and Truth to tear apart the vision-blurring veils of selfishness, fear and separateness.

Fiery thinking is the descent of
knowledge from the Fiery World.” (8)
All of Space is disposed to welcome the “elusive decrees” of Saturn who, as the vehicle of the Third Ray, makes the solar Plan/Plane resonate according to vibrant paths of Light: “The equitonals (9) of the third Ray … emitted by the Ideator, through Saturn radiate into the world of Ideas, transmit impulses of renewal and rebirth. They constitute a sensitive system, analogous to the nervous system of the human body, which propagates orders, dispositions, luminous stimuli. Ideas are alive and therefore pulsating. They must therefore have a system of centres that reacts to impulses. The equitonals of the third Ray, as far as we can now understand, have the function of adjusting the arrangement of the Ideas to the incitements that Saturn emanates in Space. (…) To understand how the solar System works, it is necessary and sufficient to think what the third Luminary, Master of Thought, thinks. The infinitude of Ideas is Saturn’s field of thought”. (10)
The systemic Space is thus perfused by currents of Light emanating from Pisces, from where Saturn radiates the blaze of creative Thought capable of building for Love; and there is no more “sacred” action than to raise substance in the radiance of spiritual light, freeing from the shackles of matter the Christ who hides in the depths of substance’s womb.
“Only the heart, covered with nothing but love,
links us with the Higher Forces.
The fabric of love is a most sacred one.” (11)
“In the Cosmic Battle let us defend that which is sacred.
In the Cosmic Battle let us affirm that basis
on which Existence itself is upheld.
In the Cosmic Battle let us manifest that
by which life of the future is constructed.” (12)
And the invocation that rises from the hearts of Humanity towards Heaven for Light to “descend to Earth” finds its most evident and shining image in Saturn: “A point of Light shines in the firmament: it is Saturn, Lord of the third Ray. It creates and … spreads the fifth Principle, the divine mind”. (13)
“The Mind of Cosmos is omnipresent.
In all Space its rule is manifest.
Incalculable are all its effects and new combinations.
From the chemism of the luminaries
to the functions of life’s manifestations,
it rules the principle of Being.” (14)
The planetary Server turns his spirit to the one centre of evolution pulsating in the grandeur of the Infinite, the Total Being, to draw from the Chalice of the solar Saviour the strength to overcome and radiate that power of glorious beauty at the service of the new plan of Salvation.
“The one salvation is to turn the spirit toward the light of Truth.”
