We, Humanity, oriented towards Goal 6.3 of the Evolutionary Plan, dedicated to Communion with the World of Ideas, on this day of heliocentric conjunction between Mercury (Fourth Ray) and our planet Earth (Third Ray), are currently facing crises, wars… as in the days of the still very relevant writings of Alice Ann Bailey and Agni Yoga:
“When the world is plunged into the darkness of denial, then indeed, one must expect the destruction of old unfit foundations, for how else can the world be regenerated? How can humanity come to its senses if not by the shattering of all unfit foundations? Only when the new and affirmed great principles of Hierarchy are realized by humanity will it be possible to confirm humanity’s salvation. Thus, We intensely impel the planet to the principles of the Hierarchy of Good. The loss of the highest concepts must be compensated for, because each lost principle brings cosmic upheavals. Thus, humanity must be regenerated upon the principle of Hierarchy.” (Agni Yoga – Hierarchy § 411)
Together, as a group, we are aligned to the Plan of human Evolution. Human consciousness must learn to be “responsible” for it, that is, to “respond” to it more and more. We must learn to respond, to collaborate more and more consciously with the Plan through Thought enlightened by love for the Common Good, with the goal of establishing more upright relationships on Earth.
“With the growth of assimilation grows the feeling of responsibility. Facing the Great Plan, understanding of responsibility must be made manifest, therefore with each decision the full feeling of responsibility should be realized. Complete responsibility imbues one like Spatial Fire. Full responsibility must imbue each action; for the feeling of containment can only be affirmed when the sense of responsibility impels the spirit to the fulfillment of the Will of Hierarchy. Hence cosmic daring suffuses the Carrier of Fire. Therefore the affirmation of the Higher Will can be realized when the spirit is truly filled with responsibility. Thus, victories are achieved. Thus, those are invincible who fulfill the Will of Hierarchy.” (Agni Yoga – Hierarchy § 198)

“The bringing into manifestation of the New Age upon earth and the accompanying emergence of the fifth kingdom of souls, is a task which calls for the united and concerted efforts of all those who are applying themselves to achieve this objective. It also needs the cooperative endeavours of that more advanced portion of humanity that is sensitive to these new influences, who can grasp the nature and far reaching potentialities of this momentous happening, and who are, therefore, prepared to share, to the best of their ability, in the response to the need of this crucial moment and to the service which the Great Ones are seeking to render. This cooperative effort by the more receptive portion of humanity is, in reality, what the Hierarchy is seeking to bring about among the sons of men.” [1]
Let us not forget, in these times of crisis, that the Hierarchy of spiritual forces stands in spiritual Being. Our elder Brothers and Masters guide humanity along the path of Life. “… the Hierarchy stands as a bulwark of strength between us and possible disaster; this centre of spiritual life is “like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land”.” [2] It is a large body of freed and consecrated Life Units, dedicated to the salvation of the world, working in group formation with all forms and lives of all kingdoms, and with souls in particular; the Hierarchy only emphasises the consciousness aspect of all forms.
“… mankind has marched steadily forward from a state of blind ignorance and unawareness to one of an intelligent preoccupation with life and a growing sense of responsibility. This sense of responsibility, which is awakening in all of you, is—on its present large scale—relatively new and is one of the factors definitely increasing the distress and pain you are all feeling. You ask yourselves, where, as a race, have we failed and what can we do to rectify our mistakes? In spite of everything, however, men have gone from stage to stage of intelligent and spiritual unfoldment and no matter what the outer happenings have been or may be, the race has made real progress. There has been no turning back, and there will be none. Mankind has weathered many storms and survived many difficulties; men have emerged from periods of crisis better and stronger, purified “so as by fire” and definitely nearer the goal.” [Ibid., p. 80]
We must therefore be the thinkers, the world servers, standing in the spiritual Being.
The human family shows integrity and solidarity: “We are one people—one in our relationships, and capacities and desires, our origin and our goal. It is this essential and recognisable integrity which is emerging at this time powerfully in the human consciousness. You are apt to think that this may not be so, that your position in believing this is somewhat unique and that you stand somewhat alone. But this is your error and is not true to the facts of the case. In every land and among widely differing peoples, the same desire exists for understanding, for the establishing of right and peaceful relations, and for the expression of that basic goodwill which is one of the deepest human characteristics and our divine inheritance.
These are the things which, it seems to me, are important at this time, and which all of us would do well to remember. Will you try to do so? No matter what may take place in the world—whether war or peace, strife and aggression or understanding conciliation and conference—we face a difficult period of adjustment, and for this we must be prepared…
Much will depend upon what you and all men of goodwill and disciples think and what they do. I would like to remind you of another most encouraging thing, and that is that the power wielded by those who are seeking to live as souls and in touch with the soul and the world of spiritual realities is out of all proportion to their registered sense of power and usefulness. You are, as you endeavour to wield spiritual force constructively and selflessly, far more potent than you realise. If you add to this realisation the recognition that you are not alone in this, but that people with a vision similar to yours and with the same ideals and spiritual aspiration are to be found in every country without exception of any kind, in every religion, group and organisation, then indeed you can go forward with courage and with hopeful faith. If this is a statement of fact (and I believe it to be so) then let us go forward in unison with our brothers everywhere, conscious of opportunity, of strength, of responsibility and of the joy of service.
[Here are some of the things which we can/must do:]
… Refuse to allow yourselves to be swept by any fear psychosis or to be stampeded into any attitude through which the anxiety and unrest and distress in the world can overwhelm you. Strive to stand in spiritual being. Each morning, in your meditation, seek to take that attitude with a new and fresh definiteness and to hold it during the hours of service which lie ahead each day.” [pp. 80-1]
“I would like to point out to my brothers that they need to do two things: To meditate on truth in daily life, using the concept of truth practised and lived by as their seed thought in meditation; to this end I would suggest that they memorise and use at all times when swept by illusory fears and needless foreboding the following formula or prayer:
“Let reality govern my every thought, and truth be the master of my life.”
Let each say this to himself as constantly as need requires, forcing his mind to focus attention upon the significance of these spoken words.” [3]
“… It is time to understand the responsibility and the privilege afforded by earthly incarnations. Yet people often avoid listening to the waves of space and catching the echoes and answers which come from various strata of the Universe. We are repeating about the privileges of spiritual development, but the matter is so distorted that a well-meaning denizen even fears to mention anything that is linked with the radiant region of spirit. Try to speak of the light of realization and the bliss of spirit and you will be feared like robbers and murderers. But even robbers were disciples of Christ and Buddha; hence do not fear human epithets, but harken to the Voice of Eternity, which leads to Bliss and Light.
Fear not, fear not, fear not!” (Agni Yoga – Hierarchy § 38)
- “… let each of you gain that control of speech… the most powerful factor in the control of speech is a loving heart. Wild and fearful talk, hateful gossip, cruel innuendo, suspicion, the ascribing of wrong and wicked motives to persons and peoples, and the divergences of attitude which have separated the many different nations in the world are rampant today and have brought the world to its present distressing situation. It is so easy to drift into the same habits of speech and thought which we find around us and to discover ourselves participating in attack and the spirit of hate. Guard yourselves strenuously against this and say nothing which could inflame hate and suspicion in connection with any race, any person, any group or any leaders of groups and nations. You will have to guard yourselves with care, so that even in defense of that which you may personally or nationally approve you do not find yourselves full of hate and breaking the law of love—the only law which can truly save the world. Perhaps the key to your success along this line will be the silence of a loving heart.” [note 2 – p. 82]
“Let harmlessness, therefore, be the keynote of your life.” [4]
“Let the radiance of the heart lead thee to peace.
Desire earnestly the loving, radiant heart
which showers peace and healing strength on others.” [5]
- “It will be good also to cultivate the joy that brings strength… If you truly believe that the spiritual life is fundamental in the world today, if you do believe that divinity guides the world, if you truly grasp the fact that all men are your brothers and that we are all the children of the One Father, and if you are convinced that the heart of humanity is sound—are these not adequately potent ideas to hold us joyously steady in the midst of a changing world?” [note 2 – p. 82]
“… Be, be, be joyous; not through desire, but through the striving of spirit. Be joyous; not through ancestral desires, but through the command of the entire consciousness, in order to create that luminous thread which unites all worlds. Be joyous; not because of the success of works already decayed, but in knowledge of the predestined and of that already inscribed in the scrolls of the future. Be joyous; not in the desire for repose, but because of the agitation of the elements, since only the agitation of the elements will serve you; for one cannot command the dead to revivify the living. Thus, understand that joy is a special wisdom, and do not abandon the fires of light above the crumbs of the feast…”. (Agni Yoga – Hierarchy § 96)
“Streams of joy fill the ocean of the Creator’s Thought.
And you, pouring drops of joy into the human soul,
bring offerings to the Creator of the Worlds.
Enlightenment will never end.
Learn by teaching others.
You were not mistaken in expounding joy.
Each tree blooms in joy;
But when shedding its leaves, it grieves not,
remembering the coming spring.”

Let us continue to seek together a path of peace, recognition, respect and goodwill, so that we Humans can cooperate in the Plan of Evolution:
- Like the Hierarchy of Spiritual Forces, we too can stand steady in spiritual Being.
- … the silence of a loving heart should be our keynote for the coming year.
- … the strength to stand is the result of a joyous attitude and a true orientation to the soul. [note 2 – p. 82-3]
