Today, as the Sun enters Taurus, the sign of the New Group of World Servers, the Disciple of the One Humanity, with growing awareness of its solar destiny as the fourth creative Hierarchy, focuses on the eye of vision, that lofty, circular opening that the Builders carve into the front of the Temple of Man and of the World. Indeed, the motto of Taurus reads: “I see, and when the eye is opened, all is illumined”.
As planetary Servers oriented towards Goal 6.3 of the evolutionary Plan, dedicated to Communion with the World of Ideas, we therefore solemnly assert the fifth of the 12 Assertions of the One Humanity (see introductory article and online ritual Celebration):
Humanity releases Light and Beauty
Taurus guards the secret of Light, which reveals the Sound, the creative Agent, and illuminates the initiate, the “Light of the world”. Taurus leads from illusion to the Light of spiritual Reality; the eye of Taurus is the eye of revelation and pours radiant light upon men whose individual vision must open, reacting to the cosmic light. Light, illumination and sound, as an expression of the creative force, are the three fundamental ideas connected to this constellation. “The interpreter of the divine voice”, as Taurus was called in ancient Egypt, can be defined in Christian terminology as “the Word made flesh”. Taurus is therefore associated with the Buddha – “Enlightenment conquered by striving” and the Christ – “Light of the world”. Christ said: “I am the Light of the world”, and “if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light”: “the eye of Taurus”, Mother of enlightenment, is the symbol of the eye that Christ intended.
The fourth Ray of the Sign is also the bearer of Beauty and Harmony:
“In Beauty the Infinite will manifest. In Beauty the teachings of the seekers of Spirit are illumined. In Beauty we are not afraid to reveal the truth of freedom. In Beauty we kindle the radiance in every drop of water. In Beauty we transform matter into a rainbow.
There is no ugliness that will not be swallowed up in the rays of the rainbow, the rainbow formed when matter is decomposed. There are no fetters that will not decompose in the freedom of Beauty. How can we find words to discuss the universe? How shall we speak about the evolution of forms? How shall we raise the consciousness to a level where it studies the fundamentals? How to advance humanity to a point where it cognizes the world scientifically?
Every cognition is born in Beauty.
Learn how to think luminously, and nothing terrifying will touch you.”

The exoteric ruler of Taurus is Venus, whose Logos is the elder Brother of our Earth and which is the most luminous, attractive and beautiful planet we see in the night Sky. The fifth Ray that this Luminary conveys also evokes the Light of fiery thought.
“Does an Arhat rest? You already know that a change of labor is rest, but the true repose of an Arhat is his thought about the Beautiful. Amidst various labors, thought about the Beautiful is the bridge and power and stream of benevolence. Let us weigh a thought of evil and a thought of good, and we shall prove to ourselves that the beautiful thought is more powerful. Let us organically analyze different thoughts, and we shall see that a beautiful thought is a treasury of health. In beautiful thinking an Arhat beholds the ladder of ascent. In this active thinking is the Arhat’s repose. In what else can we find another source of benevolence? Thus can we remember when we are especially oppressed. When the shutters of selfhood are being fastened everywhere, when fires are extinguished in the darkness, is it not the time to reflect about the Beautiful? We anticipate a miracle, we strive to break the lock, but the ladder of the Arhat is only in the Beautiful. Let us not sully, let us not belittle this path! Only thereby will we attract that which seems so miraculous. And the miracle, is it not the indissoluble bond with Hierarchy? In this bond lies all of physics, and mechanics, and chemistry, and the panacea for all things. It seems possible with a little striving to move all obstacles, but the fulfillment of this condition is immeasurably difficult for people! Why have they clipped the wings of beauty?”

The esoteric and hierarchical ruler of the sign is Vulcan, whose splendour is obliterated by the Sun. He is the One who draws metals from the depths of the earth, forging them with the blows of his mallet and literally making them release their intrinsic Light and Beauty: the most powerful weapons to be entrusted to the “Warriors of Light”.
Light and Beauty are intimately related: that which is luminous is beautiful and that which is beautiful radiates Light. Light and Beauty are present everywhere, even where ugliness seems to prevail; evident or concealed are in fact the foundations on which the Cosmos is built. However, it is necessary to recognise them, and this is only possible if one learns to “look with the eyes of the heart”, i.e. to look beyond outward appearances. When the light of beauty can be discerned and affirmed even in the most difficult situations, Joy and Gratitude flourish.
The understanding of Beauty, which, as the Master of Agni Yoga says, will save the world, is indispensable in this time of passing from one Age to another, when everything seems to be collapsing around us. We have a sense of helplessness in the face of the ugliness of wars and human cruelty and we are tormented by the thought that Man has lost the Way; yet, right now the Light of the new world is advancing and right now more than ever we must understand it, defend it, assert it, explain it, show it. And it is he who understands Beauty who can guide pilgrims along the Way.
It is therefore up to the Disciples of the One Humanity, with an act of will, to stand firm in the Light, to fly over the stormy sea of human emotions and partisanship without getting their wings wet, and to bear witness to the power of Beauty even when and where no one sees it.
It may seem an act of naivety to think of defeating Adverse Forces with the power of Beauty, seemingly so fragile and elusive; yet it is not so, for in the midst of ruin, turmoil and wars, tiny flowers of resplendent perfection are born and grandiose rainbows and sunsets of astonishing colours appear on the battlefields, while at night the Heavens cover us with a shining mantle of stars, tirelessly pointing to the door of another possible world, where every contrast can be resolved into Harmony.
It is therefore necessary to educate ourselves and others to understand the Beauty that lives in each one of us and vibrates everywhere in creation, its invincible power and its Light that obliterates the Darkness, in the face of which the fearful are afraid, thus giving them greater strength.
Human beings have always strived to produce works of beauty and have been able to give the world sublime artistic achievements in many fields, which are the heritage of Humanity.
However, it is important to realise that each one of us is called to work with the light of Beauty, for the human kingdom is the planetary Artist and has the task of creating a masterpiece out of its own life.
The miracle of Beauty in the adornment
of our daily lives will exalt mankind.
Raise high your light.
Illumine the beauties of My Temple.
Teach the Joy of Beauty.
Teach the Happiness of Wisdom.
Teach the Bliss of Love.
Teach the Glory of Unity with God.
I will grant you the power and fleetness of Mercury.
Go forward without doubt, without fear,
without turning back.
