The Courage to Imitate

Upon opening this 4th working direction we wondered, among other things, how to tap into the Models, promoters of evolution.

A first answer to this question might be: “recognizing and imitating them.”

We stated that everyone chooses some models in the course of his/her life (changing with development of consciousness), to which they are inextricably linked.

Then comes the day when the evolutionary impulse stirs in us and we begin to ask ourselves fundamental questions: “Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we headed?”

The search for models then becomes mindful and forced. The Model is what can help us to answer such questions. The more these are clarified in us, the more we are able to recognize the models, promoters of evolution: Guides, major and minor.

Guides are magnets guiding and attract ardent consciousnesses, who are committed not simply to venerate them but to imitate them.

In the Middle Ages, in an obscure monastery, Thomas a Kempis wrote a work entitled “The Imitation of Christ.” The use of this term, imitation, revolutionized the then current concept of “adoration of Christ.” It was an act of great courage, showing a deep understanding of the fact that great Beings are what we will be and, in essence, we already are. We are the Magnet and the particles attracted by It, of which they must become aware.

Imitation is a form of creative activity, driven by a burning heart. It is said in the texts of some teachings that you need to do “as if”, consciously imitating what is not yet realized.

It is in fact not so different from when children imitate their elders, if not in awareness and commitment. The question is not to “pretend”, but to “learn to be and take responsibility for it.”

When our hearts adhere to a Model, it means that a part of us is already there and an energy channel can thus be opened, a dialogue between the major and minor tending to unify them. Imitating the Model step by step, with commitment and balance, it happens one day that the difference between the one and the other can be overcome. So we proceed on the path of ascent, without deviating, in beauty and comeasurement, with an eye to the High, to Heaven: the Model of all models.

The great celestial model is under the eyes of all, and not separated from us, inhabitants of this wonderful blue Planet, one of those twinkling points which distribute light, love and knowledge, plowing majestically the solar space.

It is up to us, with our small yet broadly encompassing projects, to foster those lights, placing around them a network of smaller lights which assist in uplifting conscious beings from disorder and confusion, unifying them in a common enterprise.
