Directions of the Cosmic Temple: Capricorn – Eagle

In this liturgical and solemn year, the seventh of the fifth seven-year period, we intend to celebrate the Full Moons as dates or directions of connection with the supreme stellar sources, rulers of our local universe, our cosmic Abode, the Entity in which “we live, move and have our being”.

To nourish this inner, rhythmic and powerful rite, we present at each ‘celestial appointment’ some extracts from the text The Order of Orion, “an astrosophical investigation of the solar and cosmic essence of humanity” (only available in Italian at the moment), to trace the possible infinite paths between the Moon and the One:

“The wisdom tradition indicates full moons (and new moons) as important celestial dates, in order to invoke the evolutionary energy of the Twelve Signs: thirteen impulses (13 full moons in an annual cycle of 12 months/Signs) which will be understood here as propitious and precious dates to expand the resonance of these alignments, which are already human, planetary and solar, beyond our System, in deep Space, according to the Model of the Galactic Order of Orion, organized in a cosmic Zodiac with 10 Constellations”.

“Later, when the new world religion is founded and is working, we shall find that the major, monthly festival in August, held at the time of the full moon, will be dedicated to the task of making contact, via the Hierarchy, with Sirian force. Each of the months of the year will later be dedicated (through accurate astrological and astronomical knowledge) to whichever constellation in the heavens governs a particular month, as Sirius governs Leo”. (Esoteric Astrology, p. 299)

“According to the hypothesis of attribution developed in the aforementioned text, a Constellation of this higher Zodiac (or more than one in some cases) will therefore be associated with a Sign in the 13 full moons. The Moon (the Mother of Form) must be elevated to Heaven and glorified, it must reflect and express on Earth (the root chakra of the Solar System) the Will of the Father, that is the Solar Magnet (Sun/Vulcan), aligned with all the other higher Magnets: the lunar bodies of the planetary Personality (Earth) must release and let shine the Light of Life, of the Soul (Sun/Vulcan), of the Monad (Sirius-Orion), of the Logos (Galactic Center).

In this vital progression the Ten – the One in its higher ‘octave’ – is the symbol of that Order of cosmic Life (One, Three and Seven, 49), which ultimately governs to perfection the lunar Form through the sun of the Heart, the Order of solar Space, the Twelve”.

On the day of the full moon of Capricorn, let us look up at the Eagle, the Bird which is the symbol of the First Aspect or Spirit and of its supermundane Highness.

This heavenly direction magnifies the alignment that took place, at a geocentric level, between Jupiter and Saturn, perfectly conjunct at the solstice (21-12-2020 at 0° 28′-29′ of Aquarius), also in conjunction with Altair, the primary Star of the Eagle.

“The Eagle, the bright and powerful ‘bird of the spirit’, supposed to be a secondary Solar System of 1st Ray (Altair is its bright star, which with Deneb of Cygnus, the Swan, and Vega of Lyra, the Lyre, traces the so-called ‘Summer Triangle’), is associated at the level of the evolution of Consciousness with 3 Signs of triumph and fulfillment of the Soul:

Hercules, the disciple, “is looking at the eagle, the spirit aspect. He is occupied with that marvellous symbol of light emerging, which makes all victory possible… The Eagle is interchangeable with Scorpio; it is the bird of the sun which has conquered the dark side of Scorpio (that adversary that can drag man down lower than the beasts), but when transmuted is the eagle of light, which can exalt above the gods.

… Aquila is interchangeable astrologically with Sagittarius and is the symbol of the spirit manifesting through the soul, which the aspirant on the physical plane is one-pointedly seeking.

… Aquila, the eagle, is regarded as being as closely related to Capricorn as to Sagittarius. You have the bird of light (symbol of the highest aspect of man) manifesting as the soul (the second aspect) which has achieved”. (The Labours of Hercules)

The Eagle, “flying straight into the face of the sun, the bird out of time and space, the symbol of immortality” therefore stands for the victory of the Spirit. The ‘bird of prey’ of the Heavens indicates the most high flight into Reality allowed by clear spiritual vision, by direct knowledge. The eye of the eagle sees everything from above, with the loving detachment and divine indifference of those who fly over the peaks, and swoop relentlessly on their prey (Matter, illusion) without any hesitation. [1]

Celebrating the Eagle at the full moon of Capricorn, Sign associated with the Initiates or Dragons of Wisdom, in this exceptional ‘time’ in which the initiatory axis of the Solstices (cardinal axis Capricorn-Cancer) is aligned with the direction to the Galactic Center, carves a path towards our highest depths, a flight into the Being of cosmic Unity”.

[1] “… the Eagle (connected to St. John) represents the cosmic Spirit or Ether, the omni-penetrating Eye of the Seer; the Bull of St. Luke represents the waters of Life, the element that generates everything and the cosmic force; the Lion of St. Mark, fiery energy, indomitable courage and cosmic fire; whereas the human Head or the Angel that is placed next to St. Matthew is the synthesis of the three animals blended in the higher Intellect of man and in cosmic Spirituality. All these symbols are Egyptian, Chaldean and Indian. The eagle, the Bull, and the Lion-headed gods are many, and they all represent the same idea in the Egyptian, Chaldean, Indian and Jewish religion, but they, starting from the astral body, did not go beyond the cosmic Spirit or Higher Manas – as Atma-Buddhi, or the Absolute Spirit and the Spiritual Soul which is its vehicle, could not be symbolized by concrete images” (H. P. Blavatsky, The Theosophical Glossary – under the heading: ANIMALS)
