1.3 – 3.1 Sound and Fire

According to the unifying score of our annual Canto (see 2022 Solar Rituality and Ephemerides), from the Generator Lambdoma of the Genesis of Ideas, a philosophical attempt to “square the circle” of the absolute Life, we have:

1.3 SOUND – Sound is the fiery impulse of Life

3.1 FIRE – Fire is Life generating and multiplying itself

This Polarity of Ideas expresses and spreads out the primary relationship between:

1.1 LIFE – Life IS

and

3.3 LIGHT – Light is the rhythmic motion of Fire

At the level of abstract or fiery Thought (where the human Soul, the “body of causes”, for the esoteric vision, stands), the attempt to understand and live the quadripartite relationship between Life, Light, Sound and Fire is analogous to a squaring of the circle, at the centre between the World of Ideas (circle) and that of Forms (square).

Ideas are real Energies and living Entities, they are the powers that produce precipitates, and turning our contemplation and reflection to these Sources of events and things raises our vibration and our view of existence, an imperative and urgent act in these times of confusion and blindness.

Rulership is not in crowns nor in crowds, but is in the cosmic expanse of ideas.” (New Era Community § 84, Agni Yoga Series)

Life IS and in Space It generates and multiplies itself incessantly:
It is Fire (3/1).
Its fiery impulse is Sound (1/3).
Its rhythmic motion is Light (3/3).

Fire is the energy and substance of Life, its impulse creates as Sound and reveals itself as Light.

How beautiful it is to fly with our Thought among these supernal Ideas and Formulas!

The Heart opens wide and the fiery joy of Life floods it.

“All work with fire. Fire internal, inherent and latent; fire radiatory and emanative; fire generated, assimilated and radiated; fire vivifying stimulating, and destroying; fire transmitted, reflected, and absorbed; fire, the basis of all life; fire, the essence of all existence; fire, the means of development, and the impulse behind all evolutionary process; fire, the builder, the preserver and the constructor; fire, the originator, the process and the goal; fire the purifier and the consumer. The God of Fire and the fire of God interacting upon each other, till all fires blend and blaze and till all that exists, is passed through the fire—from a solar system to an ant—and emerges as a triple perfection. Fire then passes out from the ring-pass-not as perfected essence, whether essence emerging from the human ring-pass-not, the planetary ring-pass-not or the solar. The wheel of fire turns and all within that wheel is subjected to the threefold flame, and eventually stands perfected. […]”. (Alice A. Bailey, A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, pag. 97)

“What says the esoteric teaching with regard to fire? Fire, it says, is the most perfect and unadulterated reflection, in Heaven as on Earth, of the One Flame. It is Life and Death, the origin and the end of every material thing. It is divine Substance.” (Helena P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine – Cosmogenesis, p.121)

“The symbol of Fire is found in all Teachings, and in Cosmos Fire is affirmed as the manifestation of life. The substance of Fire is so radiant that it is impossible to define and describe it. The Cosmic Breath is the Fire of Space. All cosmic manifestations are permeated with Fire and human thought is Fire. (…)” (Infinity I § 372, Agni Yoga Series)

“The fiery essence which permeates all that lives is Cosmic Fire, emanating from the Depths of the Cosmos and proceeding into infinite creative manifestation… Fiery creativeness is a law of the Cosmos. The impregnation of Cosmic Energy is a law of the Cosmos. In omnipresence it attests its tension. Its omnipresence is expressed in all life. […]”. (Fiery World III § 146, Agni Yoga Series)

“(…) The inception of life and the shiftings are one and the same manifestation of Fire… Fire invisible, pure, creative.” (Infinity II § 76, Agni Yoga Series)

“The fiery impulse gives life to the entire Cosmos. Each creative spark gives the impulse of motion to the striving of the spirit. How, then, not to affirm in each manifestation the fiery impulse that nurtures all tension and imbues each action? Therefore, one should develop the wondrous impulse of fire that gives life to everything. Thus the saturated fire can attract all corresponding energies. In the culture of thought, the fiery impulse should be developed above all. As the creative impulse assembles concordances, so thought attracts correspondences. Thus, guard the impulse of fire.” (Hierarchy § 97, Agni Yoga Series)

“The sound reverberated amidst varying wheels of uncreated matter; and lo, the sun and all the lesser wheels appeared. The light shone forth amidst the many wheels, and thus the many forms of God, the diverse aspects of his radiant robe blazed forth.
The vibrant palpitating wheels turned over. Life, in its many stages and in its many grades commenced the process of unfolding, and lo, the law began to work. Forms arose, and disappeared, but life moved on. Kingdoms arose, holding their many forms which drew together, turned together, and later separated, but still the life moved on.

Mankind, hiding the Son of God, the Word incarnate, broke forth into the light of revelation. Races appeared and disappeared. The forms, veiling the radiant soul, emerged, achieved their purpose and vanished into night, but lo, the life moved on, blended this time with light. Life merged with light, both blending to reveal a beauty and a power, an active liberating force, a wisdom and a love that we call a Son of God”. (Alice A. Bailey, A Treatise on White Magic, pag. 145)

“These forms persist and carry out their functions just as long as the sound which caused them is prolonged, and the specific will-energy of the one Who initiated the sound is directed towards the living form. This is equally true of a Solar Logos enunciating the AUM, and thus producing the solar system; of a Planetary Logos sounding his planetary Word, and producing a planetary scheme; of an adept producing results for the helping of humanity on the physical plane; and of an ordinary human being, who—in much differentiated diversified speech—expresses an inner purpose or state of mind, and thus builds a form or vehicle in deva substance.” (Alice A. Bailey, Initiation, Human and Solar, pag. 159)

“We have it in the Christian Bible, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made’. Thus, according to the Christian teaching, the worlds were made by the Word of God. In the Hindu Scriptures we will find that the Lord Vishnu, Who stands for the second Person of the Trinity, is called ‘The Voice’. He is the great Singer Who has built the worlds and the universe by His song. He is the Revealer of the thought of God Who has constructed the universe of solar systems […]. To the various solar Logoi of the vast constellations that are apparent when we scan the starry heavens, the quality of the Logos of our solar system is seen through the medium of that great thought form He has built by the power of His speech, and which is energised by His particular quality of love. When God speaks, the worlds are made and at this present time He is only in process of speaking. He has not yet concluded what He has to say, and hence the present apparent imperfection. When that great divine phrase or sentence which occupies His thought is brought to a close, we will have a perfect solar system inhabited by perfect existences.” (Alice A. Bailey, A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, pag. 980-981)

“At the beginning a Sound echoes, and worlds arise in an orderly way and creatures are born, with a certain order. And as long as that Sound persists, the creation develops and becomes manifest; when it should cease, all forms would instantly vanish in absolute stillness. And this creation is knowable, because it is ordered and subsequent, and a universal order must rule it, an order that is also knowable, on the basis of its numerical and quantitative expressions: the material basis (the number) reveals the psychic content (the value), and the latter produces the former, without error.” (Enzio Savoini, Harmonics. First part, free translation with comments to Lehrbuch der Harmonik by Hans Kayser, unpublished text, 1980)

“It was said in ancient times (Upanishad) that Sound is Fire. In the world of Fire (or of the Spirit) – where everything is one – the law is one, and its physical repercussion cannot be other than the law of higher harmonics.” (Ibidem)

In the centre, from the place of Fire, let us assert:

The gold of Fire shines and resounds in the heart,
the sun creator of Life.
