1.6 – 6.1 Unity and Father

From the Lambdoma of the Genesis of Ideas:

1.6 UNITY – Unity is the supreme foundation

6.1 FATHER  The Father is the generative power of Life

This polarity of ideas expresses and realises the primary relationship between:

1.1 LIFE – Life IS

and

6.6 SYNTHESIS – Synthesis is the triumph of the One

At the level of abstract Thought, we try to understand and live the quadripartite relationship between Life, Synthesis, the Father and Unity, to solve the squaring of the circle between the World of Ideas (circle) and the World of Forms (square). “Ideas are simply channels for new and desired divine energies; ideals are these ideas changed or reduced into thoughtforms, and thus presented to the public. Ideas telepathically become ideals, which is another phrasing of the old law, ‘energy follows thought’.” (Alice Bailey, Discipleship in the New Age II, p. 170)

Through our inner reflection we seek to synthesise higher Ideas and associated Formulas with their possible evolutionary application as thought-forms and actions in our daily lives of group service. “The time has now come when there are enough people to be found who—having themselves made the religious and the mental approaches to truth definite factors in their consciousness in some small measure, and having established enough soul contact so that they can begin to touch the world of ideas (upon the intuitional levels of consciousness)—can employ a new technique. Together and as a group they can become sensitive to the incoming new ideas which it is intended should condition the new age that is upon us; together and as a group they can establish the ideals and develop the techniques and methods of the new schools of thought which will determine the new culture; together and as a group they can bring these ideas and ideals into the consciousness of the masses, so that schools of thought and world religions can be blended into one, and the new civilisation can emerge. It will be the product of the mental and emotional fusion of the techniques of the Piscean Age, and it will thus produce an eventual manifestation upon the physical plane of the plan of God for the immediate future.” (Alice Bailey, The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, p. 30)

Here’s a presentation of two vortexes of the central axis of the Lambdoma, axis which is the spine of the system, energy centres which are the “true builders of the plan”.

“May the seven of the central axis invoke all the energy, all the light, all the love necessary to carry out the Project. Let them learn to extract from Space all that the Work needs. May they learn the Art of giving and receiving.” (The Distant Goals – Enzio Savoini)

LIFE through Will generates SYNTHESIS, source of Unity

1.1 Life is
Life is Mystery, which the Teachings have attempted to define:
As to the significance of the word ‘life’ our task is wellnigh insuperable, for no human being has, or can have, any comprehension of the nature of life until he has attained the third initiation. I repeat this with emphasis, and in order to impress upon you the futility of idle speculation upon this subject. Disciples who have undergone the third initiation and have climbed the mount of Transfiguration can—from that high point—glimpse the radiance of the subjective centre of energy (the central spiritual sun of The Secret Doctrine) and so gain a flash of realisation as to the meaning of the word ‘life’. But they cannot, and they dare not, pass on the knowledge gained. Their efforts to convey such information would be futile, and language itself would be inadequate to the task. Life is not what anyone has hitherto surmised. Energy (in contradistinction to force, and using the word to express the emanating centre which differentiates into forces) is not what idle speculation has portrayed it to be. Life is the synthesis of all activity—an activity which is a blend of many energies, for life is the sum total of the energies of the seven solar systems, of which our solar system is but one. These, in their totality, are the expression of the activity of that Being Who is designated in our hierarchical archives as the ‘One About Whom Naught May Be Said’.” (Alice Bailey, The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, p. 30)

“It is the ONE LIFE, eternal, invisible, yet omnipresent, without beginning or end, yet periodical in its regular manifestations — between which periods reigns the dark mystery of Non-Being; unconscious, yet absolute Consciousness, unrealizable, yet the one self-existing Reality; truly, ‘a Chaos to the sense, a Kosmos to the reason’. Its one absolute attribute, which is Itself, eternal, ceaseless Motion, is called in esoteric parlance the Great Breath, which is the perpetual motion of the Universe, in the sense of limitless, ever-present Space […]” (Helena P. Blavastky, The Secret Doctrine — Cosmogenesis)

6.6 Synthesis is the triumph of the One
Synthesis is the sumtotal, the centre and the periphery, the circle of manifestation considered as a unity.

“The first of the cosmic laws is the Law of Synthesis. It is almost impossible for those of us who have not the buddhic faculty in any way developed, to comprehend the scope of this law. It is the law that demonstrates the fact that all things—abstract and concrete—exist as one; it is the law governing the thought form of that One of the cosmic Logoi in Whose consciousness both our system, and our greater centre, have a part. It is a unit of His thought, a thought form in its entirety, a concrete whole, and not the differentiated process that we feel our evolving system to be. It is the sumtotal, the centre and the periphery, and the circle of manifestation regarded as a unit.” (Alice Bailey, A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, p. 568)

The Law of Synthesis “works through the Seven which yet are One; which points to the seven ways and yet those upon the seven ways are one; which initiates the universal into the many but preserves its integrity; which originates the plan but preserves intact the purpose; which sees the multiplicity needed under the Law of Sacrifice but subordinates that law unto the Law of Synthesis; which breathes forth the many Breaths and yet is Life Itself.” (Alice Bailey, Rays and the Initiations, p. 266)

“… synthesis is, whilst unity is achieved and is the reward of action and effort. As you progress upon the Path of Initiation the meaning of unity clarifies. As you direct yourself towards the Way of the Higher Evolution synthesis emerges.” (Alice Bailey, The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, p. 535)

“To see with the eyes of the heart; to hear the roar of the world with the ears of the heart; to peer into the future with the understanding of the heart; to remember past accumulations through the heart—that is how the aspirant must boldly advance on the path of ascent. Creativity embraces the fiery potential and comes to be saturated with the sacred fire of the heart. Therefore, on the path of the Hierarchy, on the path of the Great Service, on the path of Communion, synthesis is the one luminous path of the heart. How can seekers radiate the rays manifested if there is no flame affirmed in their hearts? It is precisely the quality of a magnet that lies latent in the heart. The loftiest creativity is pervaded with this great law. Thus, every consummation, every unification, every cosmic union is achieved through the flame of the heart. In what way can a foundation be laid for great steps? Truly, only by way of the heart. The arcs of consciousness merge in the flame of the heart.
So let us keep in mind the wondrous attraction of the magnet of the heart, which links all manifestations. Indeed, the silver thread that connects the Teacher with the disciple is the great magnet of the heart. The unification of the Teacher and disciple affirms the essence of all aspects of evolution.” (Agni Yoga, Heart § 1)

We now approach the heart of the matter, the relationship between Unity and Father.

1.6 Unity is the supreme foundation
Everything is connected, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, it is the Foundation of the Universe; in the universal container everything is included, interdependent, connected. “The Function 1.6… is precisely requested to link in-line what appears to be dispersed. In this Vortex, as in all, two energies merge: the unity, manifested in the plurality and by its means; and the Six, which ensures communion of all” (Enzio Savoini, The Distant Goals). It can therefore be said: a thread connects all centres, the web that is woven to unite. Without the will striving for Unity, everything would be separate and incoherent, Unity is the ideal that cancels separations.

“… true union exists in the realisation that the greater life ever includes the lesser, and that each expansion of consciousness brings man closer to this realised Oneness.” (Alice Bailey, A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, p. 850)

“[…] Unity is the real basis of the Occult Sciences – physical and metaphysical. […] Absolute Unity is the supreme and final reason of things. Consequently, this reason can be neither one person nor three persons; it is Reason and Reason par excellence. The meaning of this Unity in Plurality, in ‘God’ or in Nature, can only be discovered with the help of transcendent methods, with the help of numbers, as well as by means of the correspondences which exist between the soul and the Soul.” (H. P. Blavatysky, The Secret Doctrine, [V 79])

“A great Oneness reigns in Cosmos as a powerful law. Only those who adhere to this law can verily take part in cosmic cooperation. The Oneness of substance in everything urges humanity to creativity. When the consciousness draws from the treasury of Space, the Cosmic Magnet is under tension. The manifested treasury contains the expression of the energy imbued by the Oneness. Therefore each seed of the spirit must feel this Oneness. Each seed of the spirit belongs to the Cosmic Oneness in which all cosmic creativeness is comprised. Humanity deprives itself in departing from this truth by setting up a law of separateness. Immutable is the law of the Oneness in infinite diversity!
Only by this law can one build, because when attraction is creating, the power that lies in the action is Oneness. The creativity of Cosmos is boundless through this Oneness!” (Agni Yoga, Infinity II § 48)

Upon Oneness stands the entire affirmed Be-ness. The operating law is so stupendous that all cosmic construction rests upon this principle. In every manifestation this law assembles the parts, uniting those which belong to each other. This great law is the Crown of Cosmos.” (Agni Yoga, Infinity II § 49)

“One idea dominates all ideas: UNITY. It is, indeed, cosmic in nature, not just solar. It governs all the ideas of any System. It is absolute and undeniable. Every vital entity is its creature, and unity lives in each of them. Unity is omnipresent and cancels separations. For these reasons it is the most sacred of ideas and things.
Unity is, first of all, the maximum Power. It creates what is consonant and destroys what is discordant. It gathers and disperses. It is the Lord of both what is unmanifest and of creation. Unity is Number. It is the origin of arithmetic and Sound. Since it is powerful, it is inviolable.” (Enzio Savoini, Lecture notes of the 3rd Septennium. On Number, unpublished paper, May 2002)

Absolute Unity is the supreme ideal, the ultimate solver of all problems, because it cancels the separations that cause them. It unites individuals into families, and these into peoples, races, species, societies, up to the general union.
To express its unlimited power and all its virtues, it manifests itself indefinitely and is adored.
Indeed, adoration befits Unity, which is the sacred Good, the safe refuge. It is worshipped in different ways with different cults, primitive or evolved, but worship, as such, is a single act. From the sacred summit of the One the various religious rivers descend, irrigating all consciousnesses.
The search for the ideal leads to reading the content of forms, to penetrating their meaning; it is an ascent, it tends upwards, and aims for Unity. The sixth virtue seeks it and finds it in things and events.
Unity is everywhere, so it is the general communion.” (Enzio Savoini, Lecture notes of the 3rd Septennium. Partition of Unity, unpublished paper, April 2002)

6.1 The Father is the generative power of Life

The Father fecundates the Mother, the matrix, he gives impetus to the formation of new bodies in space, manifested or not. Through the Father, Life penetrates everything. “In the most ancient Teachings, the manifested Trinity of Father, Mother, and Son was considered as an emanation of the highest, eternally hidden Cause; and the latter, in turn, as that of the Causeless Cause. […] Father and Mother are the masculine and feminine principles in the Root of Nature, or the opposite polarities in all things, in each plane of the Cosmos. They are Spirit and Substance, whose result is the Son […]” (Letters of Helena Roerich I, p. 512-513)

“The Father-Mother are the male and female principles in root-nature, the opposite poles that manifest in all things on every plane of Kosmos, or Spirit and Substance, in a less allegorical aspect, the resultant of which is the Universe, or the Son. They are ‘once more One’ when in ‘The Night of Brahmâ’, during Pralaya, all in the objective Universe has returned to its one primal and eternal cause, to reappear at the following Dawn—as it does periodically. […] At the following Manvantaric dawn, which is the commencement of a new ‘Day’ or new activity of Brahmâ—the symbol of the Universe.
In esoteric parlance, Brahmâ is Father-Mother-Son, or Spirit, Soul and Body at once; each personage being symbolical of an attribute, and each attribute or quality being a graduated efflux of Divine Breath in its cyclic differentiation, involutionary and evolutionary.” (Helena P. Blavastky, The Secret Doctrine – Cosmogenesis)

“The Six desires union, and the ONE is its eternal model. The Six tolerates formal separations, but always recognises real unity. Therefore, it is the greatest unifying factor.” (The Distant Goals)

“I shall utilise the word Life when referring to Spirit, to energy, to the Father, to the first aspect of Divinity, and to that essential dynamic electric Fire which produces all that is, and is the sustaining, originating Cause and Source of all manifestation.” (Alice Bailey, Esoteric Psychology I, p. 18)

The Father is also the unison, the first cause, the Centre, the Will:

“The Unison is a sound that repeats itself, that vibrates with itself. In reality, it is not an interval, because it has no duplicity; and yet it is the true generator of all the other intervals. It’s the One. Its qualities are affirmation, command, power. It is the manifest Origin. It is the First Cause. Its energy is creative and destructive. It creates the other intervals and destroys the crystallized forms. It is the first impulse, yet it slows down and stops all that opposes. It is the basis of every movement and what blocks movement. It is the sign of the correct orientation, of the path that runs between opposites. It is a piercing ray of light. It is a sword that divides, cuts and restores simplicity in life. It is a stimulus, a reminder, a warning.
It is the Father; it is what’s Right; it’s Heaven. It’s the centre” (Enzio Savoini, Harmonics. Part one, free translation with commentary of Lehrbuch der Harmonik by Hans Kayser, unpublished text, 1980).

“Try asking a composer whether he likes unison choirs and symphonies, and he will tell you that your question does not make sense because there is no such thing as a symphony in unison. To get a new tone, a composer is ready to introduce a completely unexpected instrument.
The same principle applies to the formation of a group; do not be surprised at the seeming diversity of its members. Not by birth, nor by habits, nor by mistakes are they connected, but by spirit. They are united in a chorus by spirit that is imponderable, invisible, and inaudible. Therefore, do not criticize anyone for the timbre of his voice, for the quality is what is important.
It is joyful to realize that quality can always be improved so long as there is discipline of the spirit.” (Agni Yoga, Leaves of Morya’s garden II § 331)

“Hearing any fragments of sound, do not reject them, for each fragment may increase the possibilities of humanity. Gradually unknown words may come through; one should not be surprised at this, remembering that when dates approached in times past the consciousness likewise became expanded.” (Agni Yoga, New Era Community § 29)

Let this unison resound, generator of life, at the origin of everything:

“The seed of the Great Silence leads to knowledge of the Great Service.” (Agni Yoga, Leaves of Morya’s garden I § 360)

With one heart, with one voice, let us affirm as a chorus:

Let there be Unity!
