Fiery Communion

The ardent triangle of Fire that stands out in the heavens today has, from a heliocentric perspective, its mighty pillars in Saturn, the Lord of creative Intelligence who is traversing the substance of Aries; in Jupiter, the Master of Love immersed in the waters of Leo; and in Mercury, the Winged Messenger of Beauty, who brings this consonance of Light and Love to a close by setting the Sign of Sagittarius ablaze with Harmony.
The circulation of these high-potential energies also involves the Earth, the ‘sphere of experience’, which, from its current position in Aries, will in a couple of days find itself in conjunction with Neptune, the celestial Lord who, with his ring of Fire, encompasses the solar Community and opens it up to the cosmic Community.
This conjunction seals the emergence of an ever-intensifying current of energy, which urges consciousnesses to raise their inner tension and to become, with ever-greater determination, a living torch on the Path of return.
As the Teaching reminds us, “On one’s way to the heights of conscious-ness, neither boundaries, nor limitations, nor prohibitions exist for the one who has ignited the light of his consciousness.” (1)
And this journey along the Infinite path, whilst at first undertaken in solitude, subsequently finds its purpose in the progress of all of Humanity, ‘with united breath and unified rhythm’, towards the supernal goal. “The torch of spiritual consciousness offers its intensified spiral to humanity. Along this spiral moves the affirmed life. The torch which creates the spiral of thought verily calls to the Fire of Space. Thus, We shall say to the striving ones: “Be like torches!” . (2)
To move forward, and to penetrate ever more deeply into the fabric of Space, we must fight, as the Teaching reminds us; it is a battle in which the finest weapons – forged by the Luminaries that blaze in the heavens – are Light, Love, Harmony and Communion. Weapons that vibrate within our consciousnesses and await only to be wielded to conquer the Heavens with the fiery force of aspiration.

There is not a trace of separativeness in this battle, for hearts beat as one, turned towards the solar Fire and governed by Communion, a Communion of Fire. “Fiery communion is unforgettable once it has been experienced. Thus let us gather courage for the ascent.” (3)

Humanity progresses on its path of ascent through a fervent commitment to unite, step by step, with the Fire of the solar Brothers: “The sensitive-ness of the spirit is strained toward a questing for communion with cosmic manifestations. The being imbued with the quest for communion with the higher spheres is striving toward cosmic ordinances.” (4)
In this way, Humanity becomes a spark of the one Community of Fire, turning its gaze not towards the limitations of the finite, but towards the resplendent Beauty of the Infinite.
“Toward what shall we strive, to the finite or the infinite? The earthly sojourn is of short duration, the Subtle and Mental Worlds are of fixed date, but the Fiery World is beyond dates; this means that one should strive toward it. In the worlds of limited sojourn the fiery armor is acquired. (…) Those who have entered the Fiery World cannot breathe the air of Earth. Nirvana is actually fiery ascent. In every Teaching we find a symbol of this fiery ascent. (…) The time is coming and is already near when people will not know how to accept the fiery possibilities. In their confusion they will forget that fiery communion has been ordained. They will excel in counteracting, instead of being filled with, the power of Fire. Therefore I reiterate and remind about the necessity of fiery union.” (5)

This union with Fire finds its best means of expression through the determined Will to ascend and to cooperate with the cosmic Laws; furthermore, through sacrifice, one discovers the best ways to heat the consciousness to incandescence and advance along the path of evolution, in the awareness of the eternity of the struggle. “One must grow to love fiery sacrifice as the closest means of communion with the Fiery World. Without this self-sacrificial striving it is not easy to rise above the claws of evil. Like Fire, which is elusive, the consciousness becomes mobile when united with Agni. One must approach sacrifice not by the path of despondency but by that of fiery splendor. One cannot define Fire by any other term than splendor. Likewise, the Fiery World cannot be thought of as other than a manifestation of grandeur.” (6)

The path that humanity must follow in order to build the future is to become part of the hierarchical Community, which is already in communion with Fire. The goal to be achieved is the common Good, which is realised through hearts filled with enthusiasm for the Spirit, for communion of the heart is the most unchanging and eternal manifestation of this infinite ascent towards the Fire.
“The care for the Common Welfare leads to communion with Hierarchy. Again, this judgment is not abstract ethics, but the path to the Fiery World.” (7)
Let us therefore recall that “… there lies the utmost significance for the future, in the direct union with Hierarchy. Only the heart, covered with nothing but love, links us with the Higher Forces. The fabric of love is a most sacred one.” (8)

In order to be in Communion with the hierarchical Community, Humanity must also fulfil its function as an ‘outpost of divine consciousness on Earth’ by developing the Art of thinking, the primary task of the Fourth human Hierarchy.
The development of creative thought is a process which, as a fervent act of Communion with the omnipresent Fire, enables us to merge with the infinite chain of universal Intelligences that works, without limit, for the common Good.

part of all the beauty of cosmic energy.”
