I am your Wisdom

Today, we celebrate the annual alignment on the ecliptic plane of the Sun-Earth Polarity with Eltanin, the brightest star in the constellation of the Draco (the Dragon), personification of “Wisdom, Immortality and Rebirth”, associated with the 7th Ray and the Root Chakra of the Great Being “in which we live, move and have our being”. [1]

We are approaching the solstitial summit of this year 6.2 dedicated to Space and Infinity as the Bases of the New World Religion, in which we connect each alignment between the Sun-Earth axis and the Seven Master Stars with one of the seven powerful Assertions which open the entire Teaching of Agni Yoga, contained in the introduction to the first book, The Call, immediately after the dedication, “Into the New World my first message”.

These seven mantras [2] – words that convey the divine – uttered nearly a century ago, are a crystal that glows and radiates the seven Energies of the Real: they continue to resonate in space, spurring to unify the chanting that gives rhythm to the work of the planetary Servers.

[…] Teach others My Word, and wisdom will flourish;

And a new Temple will be raised. […] [3]

I am your Wisdom

is therefore the seventh of these Assertions.

In these pages, we have already touched on the idea of wisdom several times, so today we will concentrate on highlighting its cornerstones.

To penetrate it, let us start from the top – both in terms of our method of reasoning and in honour of the alignment with the cosmic Dragon – and thus from the definition contained in H.P. Blavatsky’s Theosophical Glossary:

‘WISDOM – The “very essence of wisdom is contained in the Non-Being”, say the Kabbalists; but they also apply the term to the WORD or Logos, the Demiurge, by which the universe was called into existence. “The one Wisdom is in the Sound”, say the Occultists; the Logos again being meant by Sound, which is the substratum of Âkâsa. Says the Zohar, the “Book of Splendour”: “It is the Principle of all the Principles, the mysterious Wisdom, the crown of all that which there is of the most High”. […]’

We are aware that the “Eternal Wisdom” referred to in the traditional Teachings is therefore an ineffable Energy, but we realise that, due to the hierarchical structure of Creation, it is a guiding Principle that modulates itself according to each level of consciousness in the cosmos, infinitely.

At our level of understanding and service, in the Lambdoma of the Genesis of Ideas – Space, putting it in Vortex 5.7, we defined it as follows:

Wisdom is the golden expression of Love

In this vision, wisdom is thus that energy of Love which continuously realises the golden ratio in order to solve every relationship of Creation into unity, in an exact and harmonious manner: Love is understood not as sentiment, but as the principle of attraction and magnetic tension, as the universal motive.

Love can create universes.

Love and Wisdom are equal. [4]

The idea of wisdom evokes intuition: our inner daimon or soul recognises its essence with simplicity and immediacy, and we sense that it is the knowledge of the heart, a quality that goes beyond the process of the rational mind, to tap into the abstract mind and higher inspiration.

The Master of Agni Yoga expresses this concept thus: Intellect is not wisdom. Straight-knowledge is wisdom. Intellect is reason. Wisdom makes decisions that long ago had already germinated. Intellect is at the threshold of wisdom, and when sharpened it moves into the realm of synthesis. […] The synthesis of spirit opens all spheres. […] [5]

This same concept is found, more expanded, in another traditional Source, the Tibetan Master: ‘[…] Knowledge is the product of the Hall of Learning. […] It is that about which we feel mental certitude, or that which we can ascertain by the use of experiment. […] Wisdom is the product of the Hall of Wisdom. […] Since it deals with the essence of things and not with the things themselves, it is the intuitive apprehension of truth apart from the reasoning faculty, and the innate perception that can distinguish between the false and the true, between the real and the unreal. It is more than that, for it is also the growing capacity of the Thinker to enter increasingly into the mind of the Logos, to realise the true inwardness of the great pageant of the universe, to vision the objective, and to harmonise more and more with the higher measure. […] [Wisdom] may be described as the realisation of the “Kingdom of God within”, and the apprehension of the “Kingdom of God without” in the solar system. […]’ [6]

The Master of Agni Yoga echoes him again:

Consciousness resembles the spirit’s understanding; it grows until it swallows up one’s whole being like an all-embracing flame. […] Beyond the strata of earthly thoughts flow the currents of the sun’s wisdom, and in these realms begins the great Teaching ordained.

We call you to the encompassment of the Universe. […] [7]

The call to understand the evolutionary guidance of the hierarchical Brotherhood resounds powerfully:

That transitional state which links us with Hierarchy is called the “spark of wisdom”. This is not emptiness, nor apathy, nor coercion, but a completely conscious opening of the heart. [8]

[…] People will not understand the higher Wisdom if they do not first of all understand the law of Hierarchy—that upon which the entire life is founded; that by which the world progresses; that upon which evolution is built; that upon which the best steps and pages of history have been constructed. […] [9]

We’d like to quote also a note from the Islamic wisdom tradition, which recognises three stages along the path of wisdom:

– the science of reason, produced by common sense or reasoning;

– the science of spiritual states, pursued by those who progress on the path of God by direct experience;

– the science of secrets, aimed at grasping the divine mystery and which is universal, the gift of prophets and saints, as expounded in his works by Ibn ʿArabī, an Arab philosopher and poet who lived between 1100 and 1200, who, at the age of 14, dialogued in Cordoba with the elder Averroé, and who would be honoured in the West with the title of Doctor Maximus.

Another key to penetrating the idea of wisdom is the etymological one: the search for its Indo-European root is vibrantly debated. We would like to recall here the most convincing hypothesis for us: the linguist Rendich proposes for the Greek sophòs and for the Latin sapiens, which both mean wise, the Indo-European root bhās, which expresses the idea of “effect [ā] of a shift [h] of energy [b]”, “to shine”, “to be luminous”: see the Sanskrit subhās, composed of su “good” and bhās, “who illuminates well, wise”. It is the same root of the Latin words focus, fire, and fax, torch: in this suggestion, wisdom is the fiery link between worlds, the understanding of the spiritual essence of the Real on the path to infinity.

Let us conclude with two more thoughts taken from the Tibetan Master and the Master of Agni Yoga, a call to the common work and to the joy that comes from that:

“[…] Give of your wisdom, brother of old, wisely and strongly and without fear. […] There is the gift of being these embodied qualities. […]” [10]

[…] But the World Community is built with human hands and feet, and therein lies the beauty of the construction. […] We summon those coworkers who know the difficulties. We call to those who will not turn back. We summon those who know that joy is a special wisdom. We may give the most arduous instructions, but Our counsels lead to rejoicing! […] [11]

One Response to I am your Wisdom

  1. Jo Garceau says:

    Wisdom is a kind of Silence; a Silence that is inclusive of all, that is identificaation with the Whole. Thank you for this beautiful essay.
