Encouraged by the propulsive thrust arising from today’s heliocentric conjunction in Cancer between the Earth, Luminary of 3rd Ray, radiating active Intelligence, and Mars, that conveys the 6th Ray and bestows Idealism and fervent Aspiration*, we address today one of the foundations of the work of the Hierarchy, the planetary Centre which, through the distribution of spiritual energy, suffuses the space with an evolutionary flow: the constant transmission of stimulation.
This aspect is dealt with in particular in Externalisation of the Hierarchy [1], a text from which we will draw a few direct quotations (pp. 654- 659), for the sake of clarity and precision, but we believe it is important to approach this study with a commitment to make this indication our own:
[…] Few of the workers can discern the quality of their own work, but if the worker were to strive to Hierarchy, he would immediately advance to a higher step. The ability to establish the sacred Hierarchy in one’s heart is also an inner concentration, but such action comes through toil. By not wasting time upon oneself, it is possible in the midst of labor to become linked to Hierarchy. Let the Lord live in the heart. Let Him become as inalienable as the heart itself. Let the Name of the Lord be inhaled and exhaled with each breath. Let each rhythm of labor resound with the Name of the Lord. […] [2]
The application of constant stimulation is so important that it can be compared to the effect of the sun on all living forms, although the Teachings emphasise that the Masters direct and modulate its energy as needed.
“They work with seven major types of energy; five of these are now in full use and two of them are rapidly coming into effective service. It must be borne in mind that I am here referring to the use of stimulating, vivifying, fructifying and mutable energies under what is called (esoterically) ‘scientific impression’.” (Op. cit., p. 654)
These seven energies are:
1. The energy of prana: it comes from the Sun, and is essentially the giver of life and health, but can also be the bearer of death and disease, depending on the quality of the substance to which it is directed.
Prāṇa is a Sanskrit word made up of two Indo-European roots: the prefix *PR-, which expresses the idea of being forward, and the heart of the word, *AN-, which holds the idea of the breath of life: it literally means “breath forward”. Similar to the Sanskrit term anala, fire, it evokes the idea of the vital Principle that animates every organism. [3]
There are many references to prana in the Agni Yoga books, and we suggest you go and find them, because reading them, besides being rejuvenating, helps to clarify the nature of this energy, which on the level of physical effects is all the more pure in uncontaminated natural environments, in the light of the sun and stars, but which is essentially enhanced by spiritual influences. This passage suffices to shed light on this: […] In what does the power of Our experiments lie? In the solar consciousness, poured forth as prana. Beyond the strata of earthly thoughts flow the currents of the sun’s wisdom, and in these realms begins the great Teaching ordained. We call you to the encompassment of the Universe. […] [4]
2. The energy of the astral plane, very active: it stimulates desire and triggers great changes.
“[…] when combined with a powerful inflow of the energy of prana, produces and stimulates every aspect of the animal magnetism with which every physical form is equipped; when combined with the energy of mind, it produces a magnetic personality, and this in both the good and the bad sense.” (Op. cit., p. 655)
3. The energy of the mental plane, which becomes more and more powerful, stimulating the intellectual faculties of humanity.
“It can be described as pouring into the human consciousness by means of four divisions of mental energy:
a) The energy of ideological thought.
b) The energy of religious formulations; these are in process of creating great changes in the minds of men concerning the religious concepts of the world and the new spiritual values.
c) The energy which is today producing the struggle for freedom and liberation from environing conditions. […]
d) The energy of the spiritual Hierarchy of the planet, as it is applied today by the Hierarchy in the transmutation of the sad and sorry past of humanity into the glorious prospect of the New Era. This is, as you may well imagine, a sevenfold energy, emanating from and directed by the seven major Ashrams, under the direction of the Christ and of the senior Masters and Chohans, deciding in council the method, the extent and the quality of the distribution of the energy involved; They decide also where it should make its impact so as to achieve the best and the most constructive results. It is with this sevenfold energy that the Hierarchy will work in preparation for its physical plane manifestation and for the reappearance of the Christ.” (Op. cit., p. 656)
4. The energy of humanity itself, which is becoming increasingly sensitive and responsive to the hierarchical impression, precisely because of the influx of the energies listed above.
Responding to the Call are esoteric groups, disciples, aspirants and all people everywhere who are committed to work for the common Good, unified by an awareness of their responsibility to help carry out the Plan of Love and Light: the development of the New Group of World Servers and the idea of the One Planetary Server are centres of evolutionary power, spreading loving waves and rays of light across the Earth.
5. The energy of the second aspect of divinity, called “Christ consciousness”.
A passage from another text of the Teachings [5] expresses this type of energy vividly: “Christ gave the greatest of all ideas—that God is Love and that love could manifest in human form, and, thus manifested, could constitute a possibility for all men. […] The soul, which is the hidden Christ in all, mediates between the spirit (the Father) and the human being. […]. It was the light which He came to show and which He saw also (hidden and veiled) in all, enjoining upon us that we should let that light shine forth.”
“This naturally focusses through the Christ Himself, standing as the Representative in the Hierarchy of the solar energy of love-wisdom. […] The use of this second fundamental energy […] presents to Christ Himself a great test of His skill in action; its use constitutes the major test or task which faces Him when He reappears and has the responsibility of releasing its potencies on earth. The task of all disciples is consequently to promote wisdom, and this they must learn to do under the influence of the Buddha. He taught the primary lesson of mental discrimination and detachment—two basic qualities which must be called into activity during this amazing preparatory period with which all aspirants are today confronted.
These are, therefore, the points which all groups of disciples and spiritual workers must learn to present to seeking humanity. They concern the creating and the vitalising of the new world religion. This theme lies at the root of all that is new: discrimination between the mental approach and the soul approach […]” (Op. cit., pp. 657-658)
Herein lies the core of the entire discussion: we sense that we can express Christ consciousness when with the wings of the abstract mind we resonate with the Buddhic plane, tapping into the intelligence of the heart, opening the soul to higher contacts, feeling intimately a citizen of the Kingdom of God, in a vision that, transcending whatever religious denomination, asserts the planetary community and looks beyond, consequently, to the solar and cosmic one.
An excerpt from Agni Yoga spurs us on:
[…] Remember, the Master’s Soul is your abode.
Do not forget Him in your striving for Bliss.
In the name of humanity I am speaking to you.
The Master is ever at your door—but leave the door open.
Await Him and He will respond to your call,
As responds the flower to the call of the morning sun. […] [6]
“I am in the heart of the Christ”, recites the 2.2 Formula of the Plan of Love and Light which we constantly assert, in preparation for His reappearance.
From the contact with the soul blossoms the inspiration and inner need for Service, as an impulse for group good: one expression of this is the key idea of the One Planetary Server.
6. The energy of the first aspect of divinity, of will or power, applied by Shamballa “with the most scrupulous care”. (Op. cit., p. 658)
It is an energy of the first ray and it destroys that which obstructs the free flow of life, purifying thought and disrupting worn-out forms, in order to activate the seeds of a more evolved civilisation.
“It is an exceedingly dangerous energy and cannot be applied in fuller measure until the race of men has learned to respond more adequately to the energy of the second aspect of love-wisdom, and therefore to the rule of the Kingdom of God.” (Op. cit., p. 658)
7. “There remains another energy which can only be applied very much later on and only if the activity of the six preceding energies fulfil their purpose. With it we cannot here deal, for the future is too uncertain, and in any case, it will only come into activity in the middle of the Aquarian Age.” (Op. cit., p. 659)
This is the only passage, among those discussed so far, that we have quoted in its entirety, because no other elements are given. However, it is good to nourish in our hearts the confidence that the realisation of that ‘uncertain’ future and the coming into activity of this evolutionary energy only centuries from now also depend on our present and progressive efforts, nurtured by our awareness of the hierarchy of celestial cycles.
The excerpts on the distribution of spiritual energy conclude by noting the evocative power of the Great Invocation, its mantric rhythm, its diffusion throughout the world, and its scientific use by the Hierarchy: “[…] energies hitherto unable to penetrate deeper into substance than the hierarchical substance and the levels of the higher mental plane can now, for the first time, be successfully anchored on dense physical levels or at least upon etheric levels. This is a fact and is far more important than you are perhaps able to appreciate.” (Op. cit., p. 659)
In the initial phase of this fateful year, in the initiatory Sign of Capricorn, with our hearts filled with joy and determination, let us again listen to a thought of the Masters, aware that it will be our sensitivity and ability to respond to their loving energetic messages that will open us up to new opportunities and evolutionary collaborations:
The creativeness of Light affirms its power precisely by manifesting all tensions and potentials. […] The Forces of Light propel all the fiery centers. The Constructiveness of the Cosmos proceeds in the propelling of all the needed energies. In this construction let us strain all our forces with a fiery heart and the sword of the spirit. Thus do We build a great future. Thus the great manifested law will proclaim the future! [7]
As the one planetary Server, we offer ourselves as one chalice in response to the hierarchical call, in a spirit of communion with those who consciously work for the unfolding of the Plan of Love and Light.

* The sixth Ray of Mars and the third Ray of the Earth create a resonance, expressed by an interval of an octave (6:3 = 2), which stimulates Humanity to open and raise the heart to receive the influence of the planetary Heart Centre, the Hierarchy.
